I would like to receive more information and opinion about JHM SUpercharger kit

Hey,guys im new. Jake said me there are several JHM supercharger customers in that page.

I would like to receive some news and opinion about this kit, somebody had maybe any failure?
How it works together with the stock motor?
I don’t like to kill the motor,so please share with me all infos and trues answers.

The power is enough for me,but maybe i would like to install that,if that could work properly in the normal street life.

thanks guys.

Do you have a S4 or RS4?

Ups,sorry.

RS4 B7 2006 late with 80k miles.

We done two times the carbon cleaning. I changed some JHM upgrade with resistor and shifting.
I done every 6000 miles Motul oil change.

The jhm kit, by far, is the safest for the engine. The other kits all run very high boost (14-17 psi) and we’ve seen that this can cause piston ring issues on the rs4. The jhm stage 1 is in the 6-7 psi range and the 1+ is more like 9 psi.

Ok, yeah there are a few RS4 owners here with the JHM supercharger kit. I have a B6 S4 with the JHM supercharger so that is why I asked.

Before you get the JHM RS4 supercharger kit, I would highly recommend doing some maintenance repairs just to make sure that you nip any potential issues in the bud. Espicially since your RS4 is getting up there mileage wise and these act up on stock RS4s too. I would recommend installing the JHM intake manifold spacers if you don’t have them already, replacing a few things (PCV valve and fuel filter), and shipping out your fuel injectors to be rebuilt and flow matched. All of those items tend to help with making things last longer or become issues with even stock RS4s as the mileage gets above 70K miles.

What clutch and exhaust are you running? I ask because a lot of RS4 guys have switched to the JHM 3R to daily drive with along with handle the abuse from the extra power. Then it is a great idea to get a 2.75" exhaust that is catless or has high flow cats.

This is very true. Plus the centrifugal style blower really works well with the natural high revving of the RS4 engine.

As the others have said. The JHM kit is not only the most sucuessful kit for the Audi 4.2 Rs4 it is one of the safest the lowest cost and from what I can tell the most sold kit.

From my memory there are several JHM Rs4 supercharger kit installs on this site from all over the world
There s a guy in africa a guy or two in the UK several in the usa one recent install in Canada. The JHM kit has actually been out for years in testing so you have one of the most tested kit where customers are getting the same results that JHM got when JHM tested the performance of the kit on there in house car.

The JHM kit has the biggest range of ability. The stage 1 kit puts the car into the 11 second 1/4 mile range. The stage 1+ kit gets you into the low 11s and the stage 2 kit looks like it gets you into the 10s.

The type of blower that JHM uses is the only blower that is actually built for the higher RPM and CFM requirements that the RS4 has.

I’m one of the guys here with the stage 1 kit. I installed it all myself and couldn’t be happier with the product and the customer service at jhm. I totally recommened the kit. heres a link to my install thread if you want to check it out and if u have any questions don’t be afraid to ask me or anyone else here.

Hi,thanks the answers.

The last carbon cleaning we replaced the JHM intake spacers. Maybe better idea to replace the fuel injectors for a new ones?

I always used here a 100 octane fuel,not a simple 95 or 98. this is extra.

In the summer i use a lot of time that car on the motorway,i can run with 200-250km/h sometimes with 300. What they thinking,it’s not killen my stock motor? So what is the best to use, less miles on very hard power or much miles 150-200 miles with the same 200km/h. When supercharger power on how it’s working?

I’m using the stock clutch now,i bought now a new dual mass flywheel and a stock clutch. I asked Jake about can i install the stage 3+ clutch kit for the normal dual mass flywheel, but he doesn’t really recommended.

The reason: With the stock clutch i went that 75k miles, that was me more than enough, and sometimes i have to stay in big traffic jam in the city. So maybe the hard one clutch kill my life and legs if i have to use 200 times within 1,5 hour.

 thx

I have the stage 1 SC kit on my B7 S4. I had it installed in Nov 2011 so it’s been over 4 years now. No reliability issues whatsoever.

As for the clutch, I would recommend you go with JHM’s 3R clutch if you go with the SC.
