Idle drop from gear to neutral.

Hello AR…

on my B7 S4 4.2 i have this problem.

I noticed that while im driving, I change gear to neutral, the rpm drops lower then normal… about 600 then back to 800.

Any idea of what It could be??
Thanks you.

Has the car ever stalled. Did this ever happen in warmer weather. Does it go away when the car is warmed up

yes before this incident, my car would stall out alot but i got happened to fix that issue by sending JHM my ecu and getting it programmed back to stock. Ever since that, it hasnt stalled once, but just this issue I posted.

You had it programed back to stock?

or the actual “chip” converted to flash tune?

“1 x Labor to Upgrade JHM Tuned ECU to Flash Technology”

Ok, just checking to make sure you kept the tune.

The RPM issue is odd, I’m really clueless as to where to even start.

yep just gotta go get it flashed back to jhm. and yeah im wondering the same, tried cleaning the MAF sensor, the throttle body and replaced spark plugs but still happening. its not a big problem when im driving but still annoying when the rpm goes lower then regular.

Have you ever tried swapping MAF’s with someone else local? Or pulling the MAF plug and seeing how it does. Any logs you’ve done by chance for JHM? It could be a bad Maf that hasn’t gone completely. Cleaning a MAF is usually the death of it. Also when you did clean it you put it in facing the right way correct? (You can put it in the wrongs way if not careful).

This. Try disconnecting the maf if it’s something that you know you can repeat over and over. If disconnecting the maf stops it you know what the issue is. The other thing can be a small vac leak at low speeds

will try disconnecting the MAF and starting the car tommorrow to see if that is the problem and will keep you updated.

thanks guys
