Yes it seems I’m back again. just when it seemed problems where behind me the dreaded oil consumption…I think… Sorry for the long post. And I do have pictures of the VC leaks and the spark plus just need to figure how to up load them.

Ok lets get the specifics out of the way
Car-------------->2006 Audi S4 DTM 4.2L
Mileage---------->98047
Mods------------> JHM intake spacers, Factory down pipes with gutted pre-cats (O2sen. in factory locations),
JHM 91 Octane tune.
Previous issue–> Poor gas mileage (~230miles to a full tank)Lean code on bank 1 and rich code on bank
with LTFT on bank 2 =-20, and Misfires in cylinders 5, 6, 7, 8. Car would
drive but had no power.
Fix----> After doing a carbon clean, replacing these parts (all Factory parts) PCV, Plugs, Coils,
Air and fuel filter, and vacuum lines I still had issues. so I pulled the intake and plugs
again and the intake had oil in it all over, and the plugs on bank1 looked burnt and the
in bank2 looked carbon built up with some oil residue. I reseated the intake, replaced the
PCV valve and plugs. the car did run a little bit better but still would misfire. I checked
the compression and it was ~163 on all cylinders with it hot which seems good. So after ~2
Weeks I removed the down pipes and found bank2 pre cat clogged and collapsing. Bank1
was starting to clog. So I gutted the pre cats and replaced the up stream O2 sensors.
And the car drove amazing (faster then when I first got it). NO Codes or misfires. So I did
a oil change added 9.5q of mobile 0-40W. and installed JHM 91 octane tune every thing
seemed great. The power the tune unleased was just amazing.

New Issue-----> Oil consumption
symptoms----->after a month of driving about 6-700 miles my low oil light came on. I checked the oil and
it was just on the tip of the dip stick. So I added .5q and the oil level looked good in the
middle of the cross hatching. light went off and about another 100 miles it came back on
so I checked it and it wasn’t on the stick at all. so I added 1q and it again read in the
cross hatching. Drove another 400 miles and it came back on. So I checked and again and
it was just touching the stick and the bottom. I added 1q and drove about 60 miles and it
came back on. checked the oil level and it was at the half mark of the bottom orange
rubber piece. Oh average speed is 70-80 mph on autobahn with some spirited speed
every now and then ~ 130-140mph
Inspection------>Found no oil drip, pulled the belly pains and found some oil on them but mostly dry oil, did
notice bank1 valve cover gasket is leaking but I cant see it causing this much oil loss.
Bank 2 valve cover gasket is leaking but it is more of a weeping. pulled the spark plugs
and all the plugs look good except Plug 6 and 8 and they are pretty much covered in
carbon and oil. I did notice oil in the bottom of the sparkplug tubes but none on the
upper part of the tubes. Ran codes with a generic scan tool and I have no codes, no
misfires being registered. only thing that looked weird was my LTFT was -10 on bank2,
bank1 -3.2. I’m still getting good gas mileage, still have performance, not having start
up smoke of any kind, or blowing smoke at higher speeds. My antifreeze is normal color
and having no issues with heat avg eng temp is 205. I decided to replace the oil, oil filter
and spark plugs 6 and 8 (since the plugs were in the car for about 2-3 weeks before I fixed
the misfire issue). and track the daily oil levels and see if the plugs get fouled again in
6 and 8 cylinder. I check the eng oil level with eng cold, warmed up and then again
15mins, 30 min later after car is turned off. So where is my oil going? If I’m burning oil
why am I not seeing smoke or performance loss. Is the fouled plugs a product from my
other issue? Could my PCV valve be bad again because of my VC gasket leaking putting
strain on it? Is the oil build up on the plugs coming from a valve seal, rings, or valve cover
Gasket?

                        Oh and I don't know if its related but my ESP light keeps coming on randomly but I  
                        noticed that I can trigger it to come on every so often when I push the brake at a stand 
                        still or driving.
                       
                        Is there anyone in ther Germany area that has a Vag com cable or is there someone 
                        selling one local to Germany that I can buy. If I order one from ross tech it will take 
                        almost 2-3 weeks to get here because of German customs.
