ignition service kit for v10

hey guys im about to buy this kit from ecstuning for my s6. new coil packs and plugs, just wondering if its worth it to get iridium or some better spark plugs elsewhere or oem plugs is the way to go.

Be wary of ECS, I just ordered the valve cover gasket kit and it said in stock ships next day, then as soon as I paid for it shipping changed from the 13th to the 16th and delivered on the 19th. Which puts my car in the shop tomorrow with no parts and me out of town until Monday.

And when I called and nicely asked if they could divert the package to the shop, which Fedex would allow them to do but not the recipient. And I explained that their shady system was to blame for the whole mess, and that I would have spent the money for faster shipping had I known it would not ship when they said it would, I was told that they wouldn’t do that and that once I received it late that I could pay to have it shipped back and they would process a return. And it wasn’t said nicely, got a shit ton of attitude. I didn’t even get a sorry our system sucks, just a cocky if you don’t like our shitty service and attitude, go somewhere else.

Last time I spend my money there. And I had a nice list of tools and stuff I wanted to buy…

Ive bought alot from them over $3k worth of stuff always good experience sorry to hear that.

Geek Inc your not the only one. Ecs has been hit or miss for a lot of guys.

pat you might want to call ecs and see if they just don’t know what there talking about or don’t sell you the right stuff.

This is there sale add note the underlying points. Maybe it will be obvious

Don’t get OEM plugs. Look for one heat range colder and the 4 pole iridium.

Exactly, they are totally hit or miss.

Most of the time, they are great. Pretty much, if everything goes smoothly.

If there is an issue though, then they might help or they might not get back to you.

Way back, I purchased a set of mats. When I went to install them, I found someone had removed the circle clips. No problem, Ill just pick some up locally I thought. Until I found out why they had been removed. They were something like $30.

It took me a long, long time, but they finally sent some out. A lot of complaining, and finally a public complaint finally got the matter resolved. Found out later that some guys were doing credit card fraud there at the time.

They seem better now, but still a bit slow to deal with issues. At least they arent stealing credit card numbers anymore LOL

I finally got it sorted through FedEx, no thanks to ECS.

Franky, the fact that the shipping date changed immediately after I hit buy shows that some shady shit is going down. And by shady I don’t mean fraud, or anything that bad. But when I am buying expensive things, customer service needs to be spot on. I’m getting old and cranky and I don’t have time to deal with some dude on the phone who is having period cramps. I’m done ranting, and done with ECS.

just noticed it said 8 and not ten.

Hi mate,

I haven’t dealt with ECS, but in case you want an alternative, I can sell you the R8 ‘E’ version coilpacks for $25USD each, plus shipping. That’s not to make any money, just to help you out of you need. Unfortunately can’t do the plugs.

That is a bit more than ECS I think, but though I would offer in case you wanted a more reliable option

Cheers,
Paul

Would it fit the 2007 s6?

email me kulturekar@gmail.com

The coil packs are pretty much universal across audi’s model line. The new ones are the red top, which first appeared on the R8.

Also, ECS can suck a big fat ****. Four hours into a job and none of the parts ordered from there fit…

The V-engine coilpacks are pretty much all interchangeable - excepting some of the older engines like the 2.7 BiTurbo which use a “short” version coilpack. That said, you can’t get the short versions anymore anyways - you need to use a collar/spacer.

These coilpacks will also fit the 2.0 TFSI engines

There are a few others, but they usually require collars or connector swaps as well.

Just be sure to inspect while the coil packs look similar there are some length differences that make some coil packs specific to each motor.

Anybody ever dealt with FCP Euro? They have the coilpacks for $18.99 a piece with free shipping(if you buy at least 3).

Don’t know anything about them, but I am ordering a set of coils from them. I am traveling again so I don’t need them quickly.
