I'll just leave this here...

Kodak Playsport actually. Had it for almost four years I believe and never once had a problem knock on wood.

I’ll check out Gold Coast. I previously had my work done at Autowerks. I was pretty happy with them but the drive to Northbrook is a pain with traffic.

Per my phone’s stopwatch, looks to be around 4.2-4.4. Best I’ve done via g-tech was 4.3 a few years back with my stock intake + K&N in 70 degree weather. You can see in the video I get some bad wheel spin around 20mph. That’s what winter tires and cold damp pavement will do I guess.

With a perfect launch and this new version, I bet I can hit around 4.1… Not bad for a 2+ ton tiptronic sedan. Cant wait to see what it runs in the 1/4. Should have my new, theoretically improved intake installed then too.

Shop sent me pictures of the new pipe today. It will reach all the way down into my passenger side fog grill, which is already opened up completely. I’ll have cool, fresh air flowing right onto the filter. Unfortunately they noticed a dent in the pipe after powdercoating. Working that out now. Aesthetically, I don’t care as its on the backside and I will be wrapping it anyways but I want to keep the airflow as smooth as possible.

If you can hit 4.1 seconds you should comfortably be able to hit 12.50

P.s. You can’t say you’re a two ton sedan and expect sympathy… This is an audi forum lol.

Does tiptronic elicit any emotions? ;D

nothing wrong with tiptronic. Good enough for the Audi RS6/RS7.

To that end, haven’t seen any stage II Apr 3.0T tiptronic A6 guys starting threads about tiptronic failures. B8 S4 DSG guys though…yikes! We have three on this little site!

In all honestly, I don’t mind the tip at all. Its shifts are pretty respectable for an automatic. The tip in the S8/RS7 is a lot better though I’m sure.

Knock on wood, no issues with it yet either. I’ve been trying for a while to get a tip tune that would raise redline to that of the S4s and speed up shifts. Unfortunately it has been difficult to get things rolling. JHM said they would do it I found someone willing to lend their car, and then whomever they spoke to said something like, “we wont look into tuning that transmission for at least a year.” So I don’t know what to think.

Yeah, we haven’t heard of Stage II cars with transmission failures but the sample size is tiny. Probably less than 20 Stage II A6s in North America.

PM count vohn on this site. He is JHM’s tuner.

Thank you. Will do. I think it was a miscommunication over at JHM but I haven’t had a chance to follow up.

Elsewhere in the VAG world, the new mk7 GTD (think diesel GTI, 180hp and 260lbft of tq) will come with an auto option… and it will be a tiptronic not the DSG currently found on the mk6 Golf TDI. Just shows what VW might be thinking on high tq cars. Maybe they don’t trust the DSG, maybe it’s for cost reasons.

Audi launched five twin turbo v8 high horsepower cars in the last twelve months

The ones making lower levels of torque (S6 and S7) were given the DSG

The ones making monster torque (RS6, RS7 and S8) were given the tiptronic.

There’s a message there from audi and quattro.

Throw in the V6 TDI Q7/Touareg/Cayenne that produces 400+ torques. Shows what VAG as a whole thinks of the DSG lol.

I wish I could find the post but someone on AZ (I think?) was saying how stupid Audi was for not offered the RS7/S8 with DSG. Everyone was suggesting that it was a torque issue. The guy then went on to talk about the new R8 V10 w/DSG…I was like ugh…

Big difference between ~400lb/ft and 560lb/ft.

RS7 is going to be such a monster stock. Once tuners get their hands on it… Yikes. Just wish they brought the RS6 here. Not a big fan of the RS7 personally. Doesn’t mean I wont try to acquire one at some point in my lifetime

I reckon the rs6-rs7 will be exactly like the Apr stage 1 s7

Also the r8 v10 plus only makes like 380 tq further exacerbating your face palm lol
