So one of the modifications I’ve been thinking about is increasing the size of the throttle body.
Why?
Well I was speaking to friend of mind who has the same engine and we was talking about issues and development stuff he was doing on his car and it turns out that the twin TB’s he fitted were flowing too much air and causing power losses and fuel consumption issues. Now he gave me a figure of 90mm being the optimum size. I have since seen comments that this a waste and the max should be 70mm. So now I’m a little lost and now wondering which way I should go with this.
So, for the question can anyone enlighten me as to how I should test whether the manifold/engine combination flow is maxed out, optimum or could use more air coming into it ? This way I can make the logical choice (and I know it will work) and not by the finger in the sky “so and so said…” method.
