Intake Manifold

What is the difference between a new and old model intake ? Mine is the old model and broken .07l.133.185.c

There was an update to the internal parts to help prevent the intake from breaking. There was also work to help the flaps seal better. So a few updates to help prevent the intake from breaking.

That looks like it’s time for a new intake. Or, if you wish you can just lock the runners in the long runner position and for 90% of your driving you will be GTG. There is a big power loss for the runners to be on the short setting. So, I would highly suggest getting them on the long setting.

That depends on when you want that power.

I believe that there was a dynamo graph on no flaps vs, broken/closed at some point on this forum, is it still around?

I think the general point is your going to loose power somewhere. The long runner controls everything under 5k. So if your worried or plan on doing most of your driving above 5k then put the runners on the short setting or pull out the flaps all together. Since I would assume 99.5 of all people spend most of the driving time under 5k I too suggest putting the runners in the long runner position.

I will see if I can find it. There was like 3 or 4 guys that did dynos before and after. The no flap cars lost something like 28whp and the cars with the flaps locked in the short runner lost 35whp under 4500rpm. Let me look and see if I can dig it up.

It is my dynotest 6 months ago don ``t know if they were destroyed

Change-over period is load dependent, for anyone curious.
