Let me start a topic rather then crash someone’s post.
I did something simular with my S3 8P with the ITG intake.
My reason for doing this test is to see if I can increase flow to the intake, but mainly for some sound effects at the track. Car sounds a bit tame vs the rest of the hooligans race cars.
It’s quick to convert back to my daily setup.
At the local hardware store the sell these sheats of Correx. It’s plastic, so it’s easy to work with and keeps heat away much better then Alclad or any other metal.

Used a piece of cardboard to get my basic design and copied it on the Correx.

Used the rubber foot pieces off the stock airbox to secure the new heatshield in place.

Fitted the APR pipe into position. I put some of that sponge strips between the chasis and the intake pipe so they don’t get scratched. Nice and snug fit.

Fitted some rubber tubing on the top of the shield, this now rests against the carpet under the bonnet sealing the box away from most of the engine heat.

I’ll give it a bash tomoz.
