Intake spacers and apr

I’m currently trying to install new intake spacer and apr coils, but I’m a lil new to the mechanic thing but so far I have the intake manifold off. Should I do a flap delete? And 1 last question I need help taking the coils off on the right side since the coolant tank is in the way. You guys have any suggestions anything would help a lot

For the coolant tank, there are a couple of screws that hold it in at the top, one electrical connector at the bottom, and detach the small coolant line at the top. You can then move the coolant tank over to where your airbox was which will give you the space you need.

As for the flap delete, how many miles on the current manifold? Can you hear any loose parts if you give it a little shake? I did the flap delete after finding plastic pieces in my intake ports, but I can’t say I’m happy with the performance of the car afterwords. I have a new intake on order. It seems to be more a matter of when and not if your manifold will go bad though

I agree don’t do anything to the flaps if you don’t have to. Removing the flaps will cause a notable loss in power.

You can open your intake and inspect the flaps but if possible I wouldn’t remove them.

If you were able to get your intake manifold off you should be able to easily move the coolant tank

With the JHM intake spacers. Don’t forget to remove the motor lift brackets located on the front of the motor. Also your going to need to probably remove or move your power steering resivware.

Lastly I think the APR coils are close to the same price the oem units. If you paid the same or slightly more than the OEM coil packs your good. But if your on a budjet and paid a lot more than OEM you over paid. They don’t do much of anything over the OEM units.

Thank you and yeah the coils were the same price of oem maybe a dollar or 2 more

I have 68k miles on the car and I recently had a carbon cleaning done at the dealer but they didn’t mention anything about them thank you !

Hey bro so I put everything back together and the esp light fault light comes on and car shakes I’m thinking I put one of the coils on bad but I got no clue why the esp light came on

Hey i had the same issues a while back. Barring that everything is connected correctly, re check the torque on the IM bolts. With the spacers and 2 sets of gaskets, i needed to quarter turn a few of them then after driving for a day the esp issue went away.

Never had this issue with the IM spacer, had it for a year and have had the intake off three times since. I use the torque spec from Audi.
