Intake Spacers from JHM

Has anyone had problems with the JHM Intake Spacers not making perfect seal?

On the cars I work on I find Iā€™m less likely to have a leak at the intake if they have the JHM spacers. You just need to make sure you have new top and bottom gaskets. Also after you install them you have to make sure you have done the tightening procedure correctly.

Then after the first start and about the 5th drive cycle check the tq on the bolts. From there as long as you did those you should be issue free.

Thanks, it turns out the leak is in the IM itself.

Yeah that tens to be the case a lot of time. Especially if you separated the intake to clean or repair it. Did you smoke test and find the leak. How did you find the leak.

Yes, the shop that has my car did a smoke test and took a video showing smoke coming out the corners of the IM. I recall seeing some videos of opening the IM to deal with the flaps. Is that a simple process to open and reseal the IM? I understand there is no gasket between the halves.

My IM leaked in the corners, and it was never separated. I replaced it.
