No. It is not weird. The Cruze, Focus and Dodge Dart are all decent cars. Especially the Focus. The domestics have definitely stepped up their game and I’m sure they will all be popular in Canada. I’ve only driven the Focus first hand and it was great. You could get a 2012 on the road brand new for $20k around here. I’d call that a bargain.
I thought I’d be in that boat alone, but I’ve said the same thing to a few select friends. Personally, I think the Chevy badges are too big and the gold is too much contrast, but I do like the car although I haven’t driven one.
p.s. why is Tom Brady in the commercial for the Dodge Dart…did his contract with Audi end? I can’t imagine Audi letting him promote another car while under Audi contract, or even AFTER the Audi contract. They would/should have had a type of ‘non-compete’ clause in their endorsement contract that puts a moratorium on him signing other similar deals, should their deal expire/be terminated.
infinitely variable valve timing/lift/profile using hydraulics iirc, cam compresses oil and a solenoid controls release that actuates the valve. Amazing it took as long as it did to make its way into cars.
That is a lot cooler than what is in the newer Audis. I just watched a Youtube video about a Fiat where the guy explained that they had five different settings but I would imagine that they could make it infinitely variable.
In comparison (unless Audi has changed things again) the Audi Valve Lift system is two very different cam lobes right next to each other and the cam lobes slide to change the lift/profile. The camshaft adjusters still control the valve timing but the lift/profile can change at a certain rpm range.
