I’m in the process of installing new injectors and I used the VAG tool with a small rubber mallet to tap them in. And while they “feel” like they are seated about as far as they can go all of them have the cages with a little bit of wiggle as seen in this video. Before I go to put the fuel rails back on is this wiggle/movement normal?
Been a while since I did mine but that doesn’t seem abnormal to me. Surprised no one chimed in.
I ain’t gonna lie, i did remove the injectors a few times, but was not sure if this is normal before fuel rails installation. I only remembered, that when I was pulling fuel rails off, these cages felt rather stiff until i started to pull the injectors.
Yeah bit of a weird question I know but thanks for the replies - this is essentially my first time dealing with injectors like this so I’m probably being overly cautious. I came to the conclusion that they were in fact seated correctly and a slight amount of wiggle on that retention bracket was normal. This video also helped me feel better as well. If you forward to about the 10:15 mark it looks like bank 2 it and cylinder 8 you can see even though the injector appears the be seated correctly that bracket still wiggles.
