Issue with JHM launch Control

Hi Guys, after some help with the launch control feature with the JHM RS4 tune.
I was asked by another RS4 owner from Australia If I have had any problems with the LC feature on the JHM tune.
His issue was that when he launched with LC the process starts ok, revs go to 5.5k rpm bounce there as it’s supposed to, after sidestepping the clutch revs then drop to 3.5k and take off.
The problem is that as the revs go past 5.5k it goes into launch control mode again and the revs do the stutter for 1 to 2 secs then revs out cleanly after that.
Second gear is fine. It only does it when using LC, starting off without LC is fine.
He thought it was because he had the inlet manifold flaps deleted, so asked if I could try it with mine.
I had a go this morning and it did the same thing. Traction control was off.
It looks like it may be due to the “Rest of World” ecu type, or maybe RHD clutch pedal sensor?
The guy from Aus is in communications with Jake to see what the issue is but I thought it may help if anyone that has the rs4 tune with LC could chime in.
Especially if you are not from North America.

I have a local rs4 guy with a jhm tune coming by tonight to do a cabin filter change. I can go check his out. But I haven’t heard of this before. Being in communication with Jake is a smart move.

That would be great if you can test as well. I doubt it is a problem with the nth American cars as JHM would have noticed the issue when testing etc, and I am sure someone else with the tune would have raised it.
So it looks like its a ecu related thing for overseas markets.

KiwiRS4, We sent out an update on that. When did you get your file? It was just limited to the overseas ECU’s all should have been fixed by now.

I flashed the map thats in the car back in September 2013.
This is the file name Audi RS4 EURO MY2007 4.2L FSI 8E1910560UE S0080-V2UE LA

Greg the guy from Aus, has tried it with a new file but the problem is still there.
I don’t know how recent the file was he flashed, but I get the impression it was only in the last few weeks.

I will look into this later this week. I know the revision we made and sent out fixed this issue. I will make sure he got that version. It will take sometime. If he isn’t already have him sign up here and send me a PM. I can try to get more of his data and make sure this gets fixed ASAP

How do I go about getting the most up to date revision that corrects the issue?
Do I need to contact JHM for this?

I have flashed the new file you prepared about a month back. A couple of weeks later after much regular driving I took the opportunity to try the launch control and the problem is still there. I realise it must be hard for you to diagnose this problem - is there any more data I can collect to assist? I assume you have seen my video that i took of the launch.

Greg thanks. All the rest of you guys. This should be all sorted out. Let me get with the guys at JHM and see where they are at and make sure everything gets sorted out. Don’t worry about logs. The guys at JHM have the in house RS4 they can load up the file you guys have and make sure everything is adjusted properly.

The last update included opening up the window for temperature control of the activation of the LA. Any chance you guys were trying this before the car was fully warmed up?

I myself had the temps up to normal. It was in the morning with outside temps around 8deg c. I have still got the map I flashed back in sep 2013, so not the latest revision.

Kinda pointless but the local rs4 had no issues with its launch assist.

Looks like CV has it covered, just need to wait for the revised tune and will then flash.
