It's got me scartching my head.

First things first. Coolant leak.

Been noticing my coolant level is dropping fast and I’ve had to refill it twice this week. Got under the car today and saw where it was dripping, but not exactly where the leak is. I snapped two pics to help myself out

First is from the top of the bay, I can see standing coolant sitting on top of the snub mount assembly. No idea where that could be coming from.

Secondly, from the bottom of the bay. Here you can see where the coolant is dripping. Right off the front of the oil pan and dripping off it. Once again, I have no clue to where it would be coming from.

On with my other problem. Vacuum leak.

Ive been battling this shit since what seams to be day one. Can ran fine for a while after replacing the intake mani an runner but its back to haunt me again. i get 2 codes. Insufficient flow & large vacuum leak. Makes no sense to me once more. All the vacuum lines have been replaced and tested for leaks with starter fluid many of times. I’m to the point of taking it in to a shop and paying my arm and possibly a leg to get this shit sorted out.

I’ve had enough of trying to get this car to run correct and as soon as it seams I take one step forward, I end up with a bigger leak and now coolant to go with it.

Looking for some insight on the coolant leak and anything to go with the vacuum leak.

Manifold spacers are not cracked and are in good condition. All vacuum lines are new are free from cracks. There is one piece of ‘piping’? that connects from one side of the valve cover to the other that runs across the back of the bay that is cracked that I have temporally fixed. Does anyone have a p# for that?

Okay, end rant. I just want a healthy car. K thanks.

the line connecting the valve covers could cause a very serious vac leak, if your pcv is working well the heads will be under a lot of vacuum to help evacuate crankcase pressure. I would replace that asap, rubber fuel line would work but a molded silicone tube like stock would be best

check the coolant reservoir tank. They’re notorious for developing cracks after 5-6 years and then slow leaking coolant.

Happened on my B6 A4.

I have an extra tank for my RS4 that I’m going to put on in about a year. Preventative maintenance.

Anyone have a p# for the hose between the valve covers? Or where could I get a silicon hose. Autozone?

The coolant res. was replaced in the last 6 months. My first cracked an leaked

Water pump is up up front. I bet that’s where the leak is coming from. Expansion tanks leak too but usually there will be a bunch of dried coolant crust around the crack. Still a good idea to replace it.

Saka had a hooligan a4?

Does the coolant look like its coming from the motor, not the radiator?

If so, could be a failed o-ring like the issue I had.

I was hoping not to hear that word. Timing & water pump were replaced and done at 75k. I’m at 105 now. The coolant is sitting on top of the snub and leaking down the oil pan. Not from the radiator from the looks of things.

Water pump is the only thing up there from what I remember when I had my tb done

yeah, a quartz grey A4 Avant 1.8T pretty much loaded. I think I was stupid to sell it. Should have just kept it.

Yeah it’s the only thing I could think of too after looking closer.

So would a new water pump need to be installed? Or is there gaskets or o rings that could be replaced?

Bumparoo.

Need to get this fixed an order parts while I have money to burn

The gasket for the water pump may be the cause of the leak?

Ask who ever did your TB to check all the parts that would have been unbolted to do the TB change.
And see if any of those could be the problem.

If you have the Ebahn Repair manual look under water pump replacement/install to see if
where the leak is would be the water pump location.

I’ll ask Induktion and see what they think it could be.

Induktion says take it to your repair shop.

Or if you think you can take the serpentine belt off and look to see where its leaking?
