It is indeed Taking forever but that seems to happen. Look at tweetss4estate. Vast had his car for ages. Then blew it up. Then rebuilt it. Then blew it up again. Then it got sent to amd for six months to a year. Then tweets got it back. Then blew it up within a a week. Then it got sent back to amd. That was almost a year ago. He is still waiting.
The whole b5 scene and built motor scene for any audi moves at a snails pace
This is just my opinion;
I think the shop building it, probably put it back together, then realized that they broke something in the process of butting it back together.
If you aren’t familiar with the s4, it will appear to be a difficult car to work on. If I had the job of bolting parts on that s4, I could have had it done in a week. I’m pretty sure the shop building it is taking advantage of the owner. They are probably going to say that their shop is also real busy.
Excuses, excuses. The shop probably has incompetent mechanics working on the car.
I don’t think thats a good reason for this build to go so slow. Since he brought his car in to the shop I did my RS6-R build, blew up…got a new block, rebuilt, got new turbos and broke my car again due to motor builder incompetence. The car failed on Saturday(crank bolt came out and smashed all valves) and I’m hoping for it to be on the road tomorrow (final bolts coming in today!). Been a crazy battle, but as a weekend MeKanIk (working 40+ hrs a week), i feel that the pace of this build is either due to money or laziness of the shop. For some reason, money doesn’t seem like it is much of an issue.
How in the world did the crank bolt come out? I’m sure you used a bran new one considering you replaced every single think that was a potential risk on that motor lol, at least according to your az thread where you were asking questions about what to replace…
That is some serious irony right there. You went above and beyond to make sure your baby was built “right” and your fresh motor gets trashed right away. Horrible!
I replaced the bare minimum on my motor (rods, rod bearings, piston rings, head gaskets, head bolts) and she runs like a champ lol.
Your blood pressure must be through the roof with this car!
I just can’t believe the hell some people go through with their builds…
It seriously makes me sick to hear that aysix went through the trouble he did, spent the amount of money he did, to end up with a trashed motor right away… for the second time… before he got to enjoy his car.
If I wanted something fast with no hassle, I would just by a new r1 or cbr1000rr… I had an r6 but decided to sell it when I became a dad. I needed a family car so I bought the s4 to be my fun/family car lol.
Look at tweets…his is the saddest story out there with what he went through with VAST.
Now he has shipped his car 2000 miles to AMD, and his car ‘blew head gaskets’ so he sent it 2000 miles back there to get fixed. Really? 4000 miles round trip to fix head gaskets? It’s coming up on 1 year to fix head gaskets.
He is still running around promoting AMD even though they have had his car for the better part of 18 months, with a big fuck up in the middle of that time and him driving it for like a month. Stockholm Syndrome there. Only they’ve kidnapped his money and car.
