**JHM 3 Liter Build**

I have a ecu just begging for JHM to get their hands on it. So is this available or do we still have wait through the final steps?

Also is there a price on the tune? Any questions hit me up Keaton, I’ll be wating for it

I read that the 2.7t flywheel and clutch is the same as the 3.0. Is this correct?

such good news!!!

i cant wait to feel the difference in person. i for sure want to see what happens with the dp’s.

almost a month without my car is like pulling teeth. esp knowing that its getting faster and more fun to drive.

thanks to all the boys at JHM for all you’re hard work for the 3.0! cant wait to see more!

I had kinda thought so since many 3.0’s use the 01E Trans, so I thought it might use the same clutch/flywheel setup as the B5 S4’s

altho Count says that it’s got its own flywheel, so I’m excited to see what they can do with it and what the differences there are from the FW’s on other cars with the 01E trans

I have been doing a little searching over on AZ and it seems that a few 3.0 guys have used 2.7t clutch and flywheel successfully.

I’ve mentioned this once before, but I thought I’d ask it again.

Are the 3.0 guys going to get the option for Launch Assist like the 4.2 guys get?
L/A just looks like too much fun not to have if it’s available

yuuuup

What exactly does launch assist do?

I believe Ive seen videos of the JHM Launch assist on the RS4. It would be cool if they were able to do that to more of the audi product line they tune for

I’m pretty sure L/A was actually adapted on the S4’s first.

Justincredible wrote a little summary to help out somebody who didn’t know the steps after getting it. here is is:

1 you need to be at a complete stop.
2 you NEED NEED NEED to turn off your ESP. If you don’t you run the risk of doing damage to your clutch.
3 you Need to be in first gear with the clutch pedal all the way to the floor.
4 when your ready got WOT let the RPM’s go up and settle for a few seconds
5 make sure to leave your foot all the way to the floor on the gas pedal
6 completely remove your foot from the clutch pedal. DO NOT SLIP THE CLUTCH… DO NOT SLOWLY REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE CLUTCH PEDAL. COMPLETELY QUICKLY REMOVE YOUR FOOT FROM THE CLUTCH PEDAL
7 make sure to stay WOT till your past 5000rpm

and here’s a vid from sakimano of it:

Is launch assist something that is built into the tune or is that extra? I have launched my car one time in 4 years so it doesn’t matter to be but I guess it would be cool to have the option. I’m sure there are plenty who would love to have it though.

It would just be built in. From what I was told the technology is easily swappable from s4 to 3.0, in fact it might be in there already. works on autos too ;D

Exactly…it’s not something that we really have to have or need, or even will use very often, however if it’s an option then why the hell not? It’s something you can use to show friends, “hey check this out”. It’s only there when you want it and can be used or not used at any time. So if you dont ever want to launch your car, then dont, but if you were to ever want to, the ability is there if you already had it put on your tune.

Whenever I’m ready to get JHM tuned I’m going to sure as hell ask for it. After trying it out a few time I bet I’ll only use it a handful of time a year, but I love knowing that it’s there if you ever do want to launch your car, and it’s 10x safer then launching it normally, not to mention if you were Auto without L/A you wouldn’t be able to do it at all

I don’t want to speak for CountVouhn or JHM, but I wouldn’t automatically assume that LA will be in the 3.0 tune, right away at least. The LA is far from a copy and paste type of deal. For a while, every B7 had to be custom done more or less b/c there’s more security or something in the B7 ecu vs B6. I think right now the main focus is the performance aspects (which is a good thing), the fun parts (LA) will come to follow later I’m sure. I know they still haven’t re-written LA to apply to the s/c cars yet as the s/c is a brand new tune from the ground up, even though its B6 to B6 or B7 to B7, you’d think it’d be an easy swap, but CountVouhn has said it just has to be started from the beginning all over again on the s/c and that hasn’t been the main focus yet.

Good point, maybe I’m oversimplifying it. Count did mention to me that LA was a feature he wanted to implement on the 3.0 tune, and that it shouldn’t be too difficult to do. Like you said definitely not the focus right now, something down the road after the tune itself is sorted out.

Great progress either way! I talked to Keaton today and he said they are going to be starting to test motorsports car with some new parts, in fact they probably have already put intake spacers on it by now, looking forward to the next update from them ;D

I have a quick question the tune will also be compatible with the a6 3.0 fwd? they are the same engines no?

WOW

You go away for a while and then come back to this…it is $Y#&(%#& amazing to see this happen.

THANK YOU JHM and Motorsport, you are the light at the end of my tunnel for when I finnally get an engine.

On a side note, motorsport I feel your pain I have been without my car for 8 months now. I dream day and night for when the day comes and I can drive my car again…

But I am so happy this is going on, almost makes me want to move to the states

The L/A was made first for the RS4’s then adapted for the S4’s and It looks like I might be able to get it to work with the A4’s. We will see tho. It looks like there is lots of stuff I can’t find yet.

Lout Jnr come on over we have lots of room for you

^That L/A system is just badass Count! I can’t wait to have it again!

On a plus count, motor is sitting in the mounts as of last night!!!

don’t tell me you went threw all that and were not going to get a nice post about it.

Great job. Now you see how hard it is to do that kind of stuff. Props to you.
