JHM 3 Liter: New Products

^^^^^basically what I tried to write, except it did not come out that civil… I think it must be dont believe what CV says week or something lol

Time to switch to a custom EPL tune, right? lol

Not saying 2.5 is too big for the 3.0L
Making note that he said I was wrong about loosing torque going from stock to 2.5.
Answer is he is wrong.
If you went to say 3in with NO ECU or intake changes then more torque is lost off the line.

So your wish for faster off the line by changing the exhaust only wont happen.
Your not going to get faster off the line if you loose torque at the low end!

Sorry, Dyno proof comes from watching too much HorsepowerTV.
Watch an episode of how to build power and you might learn something.
Not using the Dyno and watching what you do is why your car is SO problematic!
Not strengthening parts in the drive line will get you large repair bills.

lol who is this guy

I don’t know where to start…

Ok so what are your plans for your exhaust and downpipes, are you sticking with the stock diameter

whoever said bigger is better to was lying to you

I didn’t know Horsepower tv tested the 3.0 nor did I know watching tv instead of being behind the wrench and or car you are working on makes your car perform better and give you reason tO tell someone who has been in the game and knows what to do to make a faster car he is wrong.

Maybe you haven’t noticed but ask any 3.0 guy that has the tune and ask them how they like it…? Our cars are just about 10 years old and no one has done anything with them until now? Sounds kinna special to me.

We stepped up diameter a 1/4 inch. We’re not running 3" dps with 3" exhuast. You ask like they don’t test this shit man.
If you wanted a high hp car, that probably lags like a bitch, but has an impressive dyno sheet, you should have gotten a 1.8.

FWIW don’t ever say Count is wrong. I’m warning you.

Its ok if I get pissed on bashed and told I am wrong?

Let me tell you who I am.
I am a 45 year old who has been working on cars since 1981.
In the real world we use a Dyno to show “FACTS”.
Not some one who says I have a JHM ECU tune and take it that its producing more power or torque.
Or where its producing it in the power band.

I have had my B6 A4 3.0l for two years.
I have seen the ECU broken down into RAW code and seen where the code has been changed to make power.
Have you? If so good for you and you know.

Everyone can’t be right. Sorry.
Back up what you have to say and don’t go around telling people their wrong!
Do you need proof?
Watch a TV show about making HP or read a book on the subject.
Call JHM, APR, ETC. and ask them if I am wrong?

Tired of the Forums pissing matches…

Bwahahahaha… I don’t know where to start. Congratulations Halo, you have been working on cars since 1981. Stop before you make yourself look worse, and do yourself a favor and do some actual research other than watching TV.

It also might help to actually take a look around the forum so you can learn more about the count before you look more like an idiot. We have all seen your great posts in the past, but this one takes the cake.

is AR just going to end up another AZ? Enough with the pissing contests already. I’m not trying to put down anyone here but aren’t people that own Audi’s, Beamers, and merks supposed to be a little higher class level… meaning better communication skills or maybe I’m just stereotyping. Personally I just think theres a right and a wrong way to discuss and debate things. And the way that people do it on AZ is WRONG. And I would just hate to see AR which is a totally bad ass site, turn into another AZ. Anyways no offense towards anyone here just wanted to point that out because I think its okay to disagree and its good to compare different data and ideas and its okay to have different conclusions but I just think people should have a little more considerations when choosing their words, otherwise we are no better than everyone that sits around arguing about non sense which just lead discussions astray. Anyways thats my 2 cents.

I think it’s just that time of the month for a few of us, lol. Halo the dyno is a good tool for tuning, but just because a car puts out X horsepower before and Y horsepower after doesn’t always mean it’s going to go all that much faster. If you have any doubts of the JHM ECU I’d be happy to let you try mine out if you’re ever in the area.

Audi’s, and our 3.0 especially are different beasts when it comes to tuning. It’s a lot easier to squeeze HP and speed out of the domestics you see on TV tuning shows. Spend an hour on the phone listening to CV try to dumb it down and explain it to you, and you’ll understand.

Lol The CV thing was a joke, trying to lighten the situation. Im not getting into a pissijng contest Im just telling you what I know and what I know works. if you feel 2.25 will work better, then do it. If you think 3" will work better, than do it.

I have spoken with Count on many occasions for many of hours talking about just about everything I can think of to do with our cars.

We don’t need to turn this into an AZ. Everyone has their opinions and thoughts, that’s what forums are for.

But for someone to call out someone and tell someone highly respected they are wrong on a topic they are an expert in is just ballsy and I hope you have more than tv time to back up your thoughts.

I did not personaly attack CountVohn.
And I do not feel like he personaly attacked me.
I do how ever feel like I get attacked when I try to show proof.
No matter where that proof comes from.

I also know that the American muscle car and German cars are very different in many ways.
I also know the people in my local exhaust shops who build custom exhaust for many makes and models
including VW and Audi.
What they say after testing. Most cars show a slight drop in torque at low RPM’s and a slight gain in HP
at low RPM’s but the two get closer as they move through the power band.

If you want to bash me for watching Redneck TV go ahead.
Its actualy quite entertaining and you might learn stuff.

Be careful trying to one up ppl around here, especially CV. Even though “you’ve been working on cars since 1981” if you found out what CV does for a living/what he has built you’re ego is going to be pretty bruised to say the least. lol

Haha man I had 2 trucks before this car and I watch my fair share of power block and speed. I just know talking to Count we discussed a lot and what is best for the car. Not bashing you or anything bud,

Let’s all civil

I would like to sit down with someone who designs this stuff.
I have an airbox design idea that is awesome.

I have a friend that worked for Beretta as a drafter. He actualy made the tools to machine the guns.
He gave me the program they use to Draft anything. It costs about $10k.
With NextEngine 3D Scanner we could make all the parts from the snout all the way to the throttle body.
And remake the parts to fix the air path and make it better/more efficient.

The Body shop work they do on the sunday morning shows are incredible.

This is funny.
CountVohn’s Profile.
Look at his age. And apparently we are all the same age.

I assume you meant loss of torque at low rpms, and slight gain in HP at HIGH rpms?

Good for a laugh.

Thanks, loving it!

XD greatest thing ever! I’m excited for the new stuff that’s coming for the 3.0! my brother who Just got a 350Z has been dying for a showdown and soon i’ll be able to show him whats up!
