JHM ECU Tune - APR cable drivers

Hi guys,

My laptop is having an issue detecting the Cheetah APR Cable for the JHM ECU tune. My laptop has Windows 10 installed. Has anyone else had these issues? The green light on the cable comes on, but even though I’ve tried the drivers multiple times in different ways from JHM it doesn’t work. I have emailed JHM and I’m waiting on a response, but that may not be until tomorrow and I was hoping someone has resolved a similar issue.

Thanks
Richard

I had similar issues. What version comes up for the jhm app? And i ended up just deleting all files that had to do with it and reinstalled everything and reinstalled drivers and got it to work.

Hi Douglas,

Its 2.4.1.1.

However, I wouldn’t have thought that the JHM App would be the issue, but rather the drivers that come with the .zip file package. Any thoughts?

It shouldn’t be the app. Mine was still the drivers I just deleted everything to restart everything. The v10@jhmototsports.com email will get you squared away for sure.

Yes thanks Douglas, I’m waiting on a response from them, but unfortunately I expect it will be tomorrow due to the time difference between Sydney and California. I had some time tonight so was hoping to get it resolved.

JHM is still converting over to the single JHM power cable that you flashed your TCU with. The APR cable and the JHM flash is a bit bulky and can cause issues.

What I would try is to uninstall all of the JHM flash app software as there is a chance that the APR flash software and the JHM flash app software are using the same driver. Also remember that there are two separate cable. One for the ECU and then one for the TCU. They said this should be phased out into one cable in the next few months but that isn’t helping you right now.

Count is the man.

I too had issues when Windows decided to update itself without my permission and it screwed with the drivers. Uninstalling and reinstalling solved this. This was back during the Stage1 days when there wasn’t a stage 2. I blame Windows and more specifically Bill Gates for his shoddy code.

LOL @Ape_Factory FTW…

Yeah. I would say 90% is an installed driver error. The APR system is bulky and generally takes going through a more lengthy install than the JHM power connect.

Did you end up getting the problem solved? If so what was the solution?

Hi guys

Thanks for the responses. No unfortunately we haven’t figured out the problem yet. I’ve tried uninstalling everything associated with JHM and APR and the drivers, and then plugging in the new Cheetah (ECU) cable and trying to install the specific drivers, but I still have an issue and the cable doesn’t work. I’m going to keep trying later this evening, and hopefully it works. If not, I’ll be back to the guys at JHM to help me on Monday. Its just a bit challenging with the time difference

Thanks guys
Richard

Hi guys,

The guys at JHM were great and helped me to get the ECU tune installed. So this is now resolved.

The ECU needs to go through adaptation but WOW what a difference it has made already… the torque levels feel much higher and car feels a lot lighter. A little scary actually.

I’ll provide another update once I’ve been for a few more drives.

Thanks
Richard

That was super cool. if they helped you over the weekend.

The JHM team really cares. This is in part why I will support and suggest them.

Rick did you say you were turned by another company before switching to JHM. We have all seen several guys have a “Custom” tune switch to JHM only for them to say how big of a difference it is from how it was stock or tuned.

Yes that’s right it was a tune by Celtic Tuning… I’m going to do more testing tonight but it’s almost a different car! The torque is ridiculous!
