Putting the headers on this weekend and figured while everything is out we should throw it in. Anything i should know about the install or is it just straight forward?
When you attach the oil lines to the block off plate you need to hold the back portion of them as close to the block as possible and then tighten the nut. Attach the rear line first, push the back of the line towards the block, get the nut tight, then get the front line on, and repeat. When I first started my engine, with the SC installed, then oil spilled all over the place because when I bolted the bracket (that goes between the block off plate and alternator) on it pushed the lines loose enough to leak oil.
Jimmy would you happen to have pics of everything installed in its places. We ended up not doing it because no one was 100% sure and it was a guess. Im a little annoyed JHM didn’t have any kind of pics or instructions. I found some generic pics online and on their site but no kind of DIY or install pics. I think im going to email them and see if they have any as well.
I don’t have any pictures of it off hand but I may be able to find something for you. The JHM SC install instructions explain it pretty well so ask JHM for that. I used a bunch of zip-ties to attach the coolers instead of the rubber/plastic pieces that go through the AC condenser and radiator.
Ill be sure to take pics when we do finally install this thing.
When I did my oil cooler, I emailed JHM for any instructions. They are part of the SC instructions
