You would sell the whole exhause together - I have a the JHM catless DP’s. You have the JHM catted Dp’s. I’m looking to give you a couple bucks plus my DP’s for yours, assuming you have the updated flex joints. Mine do.
Otherwise I will just source some cats and make a hot swap set up. I figured for me it would be easier to have the cats already and then add the straight section later vs. the other way around.
He means trading his catless downpipes + cash for your catted downpipes
edit:…‘He’ just clarified it for you. Pipped me by 2 mins!
As for what I meant about NA vs. SC, when the car is supercharged, the blower can make up for a lot of faults. When the car is NA, performance wise, it relies on an efficient exhaust system that is optimized to help the car make power. An iinefficientficient exhaust (i.e. one that is smaller diameter than stock :D) can not only trap heat in the engine, but that will as a result slow things down on the intake side.
So NA cars, performance wise, really need an efficient exhaust system.
Sounds like you’re voting with your ears though so none of it matters. Make sure you post some before and after videos. i.e. if you haven’t yet installed your exhaust, go to a deserted road, do some revs, a launch running away from the camera, a launch running to and well past the camera, still going…the sound after the camera is important too, and a flyby with the camera pointing in the direction you’ll travel (so you come up behind it and fly past it with it filming your flyby).
Then do the same with Capristo…would be neat to compare.
if you buy one used for a fair price, it should basically be a free rental
I like the idea of having an exhaust with operating valves, like OEM. But not the weird RPM ranges etc. Just on or off basically, tied to the S button.
at this point i will only be working with the S button. also, i will have to take a pic of the capristo for you as the bends near the mufflers are pretty straight…maybe 45 degrees tops.
Not trying to hijack…but how does one go about purchasing a new full JHM exhaust? Do you have to contact them directly? I can’t find anything on their website, other than the downpipes…
I wonder if that could be coded in via a tune (not have it close up at certain RPMs with S-Button on). Something to trick it into thinking it’s in a higher gear maybe?
