JHM TCU tuned 3.0

Unbelievable.

As far as the ECU guys I did expect some more power but not as much as I revieved. The ECU blew me away and I couldnt keep a smile off my face… For the TCU I expected quicker shifts and slightly greater acceleration…

Well, I am blown away, again. This is the complete package for auto guys. The ECU changed the car completely, gave it more power and you almost ask, what else could I ask for? The TCU tune is your answer. I really cant describe how it is. The shifts are so quick, and powerful it really makes you grin from ear to ear when you step on it. I NEVER thought the car could pull like this and shift the way it is right now. The videos they have of the rs4 and s4 tuned TCU’s give you an idea, but until you sit in the drivers seat and step on that pedal for yourself, you do not know what you were missing.

On that note, the ECU really woke up the car and felt the only thing holding you back was the long, momentum shifting shifts. BUT the car still was quick. I drove for about an hour yesterday with my girl and our new pup in the car and I could feel the car working together, just from a DD standpoint. It was great, but when I headed out, by myself. I let the car stretch her legs a little bit. The car pulls so damn hard, so much sooner than you expect it to.

I mean, without the TCU tuned before. You hit the gas, you feel the car down shift, you feel the power coming and carries you through the rpms until you/ it shifts. Then it almost restarts as the car takes a long, slow shift to lower rpms where the car then begins to pull after a “lay off” period. When you step on the gas, you get an instant surge of power. The car pulls so hard. When you carry through the rpms and hit the shifting point, the car “pops” into the next gear. There is no lay off what so ever. There is no power loss in between shifts, it is amazing.

The first thing I noticed is when I was driving normally, the downshifts. They are SO improved over stock. The car rev matches so much better which brings that power right to you. Before when you are in lets say 4th, you go to overtake a car, downshift into 3rd, car shhhiiiifftttsss and then kind of hickups into lower gear, sending you up and then back into your seat. Again, no lay off. You downshift, it immediatly shoots you into the back of your seat with heavy throttle.

Quick story, before the tune my little brother would ride with me and take him on a couple little runs and I would say, feel the car pull you into the seat… Hit the gas, start pulling, and out of being a smart ass. He would lean towards the air bag and he says “look I’m leaning forward its so slow” lmao but kind of true. Didnt take him out with the ECU but I took him for a 10 minute drive with both TCU and ECU. HAHA I got the last laugh, I asked him if he feels anything this time… WOOOTTTT his face turned kind of =0 and I went thru a few gears and came out to a red light. Looed over and asked, “how was that” he looked bakc like damn, its fast now. Launchedwhen it turned green and he about shit himself.

My tune review for this one is. You have to be knocked out to not notice the difference.

If you have an autobot, you need this tune.

If the ECU got you excited, pair it together with this and it will blow your mind.

ECU = Foreplay

TCU = Foreplay

ECU + TCU = Pure sex.

One word from me.

AWESOME!!!

And a few more :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s great to hear! I had a few theories about how the TCU tune would compliment the ECU tune and you’ve addressed them quite well. While it obviously doesn’t increase horsepower it changes the way it’s delivered from what you’ve described. One of the big weaknesses in the autos is the lack of low end power due to the torque converter, and how much power is lost when you shift. sounds like that has been taken care of :slight_smile: Looking forward to putting mine on in the near future to add some insight as well.

What’s next on your plate? Are you going to go dps, full exhuast?

It’s like, when you get the ECU tune. You feel the car wake up and it feels awesome and you think you have all the power out on the table. When you plug in that tuned TCU, you see how much of the power was still held back by the stock TCU. No more power, it just lets the tuned ECU do it job.

I will be getting the intake spacers next week, then waiting for the DP’s to come out.

Intake spacers, DP’s, full exhuast. I’ll be getting some LW stuff but not for a little while.

I want my exhuast so bad, I might get that before the dp’s then mate them together

See I told you! lol!

Gotta love that ECU+TCU combo, its flat out incredible on the difference.

You should post some launch videos from the outside and inside 8)

I wanna take some videos, and I can take a video…but my laptop is still broke :frowning: lol

I will soon and see where I can upload them

you hit the nail right on the head. One of the best explained posts there is. Very exciting to have. Now you know why me and motorsports have been so happy…well till I had to swap back out my test ECU. LOL

Great write up…

Couple more months and I will be able to feel how good it is…for the time being I am very jealous of you

Zingo! Great review. Thank you for the detailed feedback. We should pay you write marketing blurbs or something ;).

Seriously, we appreciate the feedback and your support. You and everyone else on here are why we do what we do. After all the effort we put into the tune, it’s awesome to see someone recognize that and appreciate it. So, thank you.

No problem Keaton! If it weren’t for you guys at JHM and Count, I wouldn’t have anything wonderful to write about :stuck_out_tongue:
Who ever said money can’t buy happiness never sat behind a JHM car… Just saying… Lol

But on the review side, my girlfriend rode with me the other night back to my house. We were in the center lane with a car in front and 2 cars on the right. My exit was coming up on the right hand side and I couldn’t get over. Well before I probably would have been stuck on I-4 going to the next exit, BUT this time my car was ready lol I put it in tip mode and downshifted down into 3rd an gave it heavy throttle. The car immdiatly picked up and shot me around into the 3rd lane and over took the other cars with ease. Not that they were racing, but cruising at 75ish. I made my exit with ease. The best part of the story though is, right as I was giving it some gas around the cars my girlfriend got pushed back in her seat and said “wow, your car has balls now.” I grinned from ear to ear and it didn’t leave my face until I shut off the car about 5 minutes later.
;D

The gift that keeps on giving.

Oh and I’ll a sponsorship Keat! :stuck_out_tongue:
