JHM tune question

Hi guys I recently replaced both of my engine computers and did a immo delete it I get the jhm tune will it keep the immo off or will it turn it on?

Sorry, what’s the immo?

The immobilizer but don’t worry I called jhm and asked it shouldn’t tamper with it

Basically I had a guy remove the lock so the computer will be universal to pretty much any car and I was worried about the tune turning it back on

Always good to have a second ECU and with the immobilizer removed like you said it can be moved from car to car. Keep one ECU stock and have your tune on the other if you are in warranty or need to do emissions.

Yes and I’m going to tune it when my new manifold comes I ordered from jhm they suggested I should do that so I will

Hey guys I have the jhm tune and sai delete is it normal for the car to have misfiring start when it’s with the tune?

Generally if you flash the car you start over the learning cycle for the fuel trim. With all you have done and the amount of times you have cleared your ecu codes. You don’t have a fully set fuel trim. Under those conditions you will be missfiring until the trims are set.

This will be more of the case if there is a reason for a large fuel trim. If you have just the production performance tune but you have the SAI delete you would want to request the SAI off addition. The COSO files take out all of the OEM cold start crazyness.

If you still have the cats in JHM will leave in part of the OEM cold start to help make it so you don’t get cat damage

oh ok thank you. I also cant pass two things on the readiness and i’m emailing jhm about. I cant pass on the cat and air i just need to pass one to get an inspection. I’m thinking of going back to stock just for the inspection and re tune it but i’ll wait on a response from them

I currently have the JHM ECU tune. Some things I’m curious about:

I got the tune with the SAI delete. On cold start it sounds like the fan thing still runs. I assume if I disable the fan I won’t get any kind of CEL concerning the SAI system. Is there anyway to disable the SAI system without physically unplugging things?

Also, has JHM ever come out with an update for their ECU tune? Like a better version that makes more power or revisions based on things they have messed with to make it better???

I’ve read about tunes for when you delete the cats. So what other tunes do they have to accommodate things? And are these things you have to specifically ask for?

From what I understand. If you have the TCU tune from JHM there are a few updates that help make power and go with that.

If you flashed off the old server then there are from what I understand updates if you have no cats and no SAI. But you can only get those if you have the TCU tune as that requires a different cable and gives you access to the new updates.

JHM is and has always been incredibly customer focused. So worst case shoot the V10 email addy an email.

So I have been using my friends JHM flashing cable for my Q7 and the S6. Are you saying I need a different JHM cable moving forward than the “old cable” ?

I installed (8) brand new O2 sensors in my catless downpipes and CV said I should flash my S6 back to a stock tune to allow for the new 02 sensors to adapt else I could get an O2 sensor flow accommodation fault.

So my interpretation and advice from CV is flash back to stock, run the car for a while to let the new O2s to adapt, then flash the COSO file…

If you’re able to flash your Q7 TCU with the cable. Then you have the right cable. Anyone that has the cable to flash the JHM TCU tune has the cable you need to flash updated files.

If the cable you have can’t flash your TCU you have an old cable.
