JHM Tune

Hey guys im not trying to sound cheap or anything as i am not. But does $500 for a TCU tune and $650 for a ECU tune sound alittle high. Thats $1,150 in total.

anyway does anyone have experience with either of these tunes for the belt driven 4.2L V8. mine specially being a 2000 Audi A6 C5 4.2L V8.

Any feedback on these tunes would be 100% appreciated!

Thanks in advance guys.

For the A6, considering the work that goes in vs the number of A6 tunes they will sell…as well as the cost of tune delivery (setting up that server system cost them a fortune and lots of grey hairs) , I would say it sounds very fair. Let me put it another way…there are virtually ZERO good tunes for your car. So imagine having to hire someone who you would consider EXPERT at tuning your Audi to develop a tune for you. What do you think you would have to pay them for a few hours of work? Now consider that hundreds of hours of work went into that tune. Still think it’s expensive?

I mean shit you could probably find someone to do a ‘custom dyno tune’ for you for $500 and save $150. Of course you’ll end up with a nice piece of paper and a car that isn’t much faster than stock.

You could always get a deal on a stolen APR tune from that douchebag on audizine who publicly admits to pirating tunes and distributing them.

Vinnie,

It really is worth it. That package together will completely transform the way your car feels.

I tbink of you search you will see the jhm tune to be well woth its we9ght in gold…in tbe past both thr 3.0 and 4.2 5 speed auto guys have really been excited about ths transmission stuff. I know what the jhm tune does for thr other 4.2 motors…on average with a good exhaust we are picking up 40/40 there was just a post todsy about this…domt know if the older 4.2 motors could make that much but I remember you posted about lag and some related stuff like that…I can’t see that not getting much better like it has for the s4…

I thought the ecu and tcu together as a package are 1000 $ dont you get a discount for getting them togsther…

Having seen the results first hand on various cars, I would say it is 100% worth it. When you think of the expertise that has gone into these tunes, not to mention the battle testing, $1150 suddenly seems like good value.

I thought there was a package deal as well but they said no
