JHM: Your DEDICATED 3 Liter Maintenance Parts Supplier

I know that some of you already realize this but I wanted to tell everyone that JHMotorsports.com has everything that you need to keep your Audi A4 3 Liter running like new.

We’ve added a lot of products to the site recently and we are continuing to add new parts as we find out what these cars need and what you guys are looking for.

For example, check out this page to browse our 3.0L V6 “Engine and Performance” section: http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/30-v6-c-21_62_64_234_301.html. That section has a majority of the parts we’ve added for the 3.0 so far - spark plugs, air filters, fuel filters, FPRs (for you 02 - 03 3.0s), etc…

One of the items I think you guys will really like is our JHM 3.0 V6 Oil change kit: http://jhmotorsports.com/shop/catalog/oil-change-kit-jhm-lubro-moly-5w40-for-30l-v6-p-906.html.

You’ll see from the description that this is the same oil that we’ve been using in our record setting B6-S4s and B5-S4s. This oil has gone the miles in the motor of our in house B6-S4. For about 8,000 miles, this Lubro Moly 5w40 has withstood over 500 wheel torque with our nitrous kit and over 400 wheel horsepower with our Supercharger kit. When we sent the oil out for analysis they told us that even after all that the oil could probably have gone for another 5,000 miles or so. The slightly thicker weight of this oil makes it a perfect match for a lot of your higher mileage 3 liter cars, too! With that being said, if you have another brand of oil that you prefer (I hear the 5w30 Motul is a popular choice…), we’re always open to hearing from you guys to know what you like.

The same goes for all of the products we carry on our website. If you don’t see a product on our site, LET US KNOW!!! We get DAILY deliveries from 3 of the nation’s LEADING parts distributors. If we don’t have it on the shelf, we can usually get it for you within 1 business day! Sometimes we can even get parts out the SAME DAY if we order it early enough in the morning.

Ever since I showed Jason how crazy you guys were about your 3 Liters, he’s been more inclined to start stocking parts for it. The more that you guys let us know what you want, the more we can continue to stock parts on our shelves just like we do for the B6/7-S4 and the B7-RS4.

I know everyone is always asking about our ECU Tunes, TCU Tunes, downpipes, and other performance upgrades (and trust me, these are coming very soon) but we haven’t had a lot of people contacting us about the maintenance items they need. I want you to know that we are your source for EVERYTHING 3 Liter. If we’ve got it and you know of a better price, let us know and we’ll do our best to match it. If we don’t have it and you need it, we’ll get it! Every quart of oil, air filter, spark plug, and coolant hose that you buy helps us continue to release awesome products for your 3 L B6-A4.

And finally, please email or call us with any questions you may have. Our phone number is (209) 968-0077. If we can’t come to the phone, PLEASE leave a message so we can get back to you. Our email address is sales@jhmotorsports.com. If you send us a message and don’t get a response within 24 hours, please email the sales address again and copy v8@jhmotorsports.com and we’ll do our best to get back to you RIGHT AWAY!

Great stuff Keaton…

I will be sure to organize some more stuff with you for when my engine comes…

Thanks again for all the support you and JHM have been give us 3litre guys

good stuff keaton.

I wouldn’t mind if you talk to Jay and see about stocking some Motul Xcess as an option for guys. Not trying to go all oil guru shit on ya, but it does seem a lot of people have left LubroMoly for Xcess and might be something to consider stocking if you can get a decent pricing on it to provide to those who want it.

I think that oil kit is my favorite non-performance thing you guys sell, great deal!

X2 , Motul 5-40 Xcess

Yeah it would be really nice to have a reliable distributor for the motul xcess.

Keaton, you might also find it beneficial to sell the aFe dry filters instead of the K&N oiled ones. I’ve never used the K&N, but I’ve heard people have problems with their MAF when using oiled filters.

This is just me, but I like to run oil filters with synthetic media. I like the AMSOIL ones, but the mobil1 filters and a few other synthetic media filters that I can’t think of atm are really nice.

The Maddog asks, and he shall receive:

B6/B7 S4 Oil Change Kit:

When I started posting about the 3 liter oil change stuff, Jason had told me that he’d heard things about the Motul Xcess but we hadn’t had any experience with it yet. But as soon as I told him the Maddog was asking about it, he had to get it on the site!

So for your 3 Liter oil change needs, we now offer two (2) Oil change kits:

The above mentioned, Lubro Moly Kit and now the Motul 5w40 Xcess:

If you want something we don’t have, just ask!

WOW, that was sick  thanks JHM

Thanks keaton, that’s a great price too considering filter is included! I already have 4 more filters and 20L on my shelf as it is, but I’ll probably order that through y’all next!

just ordered a set of spark plugs for my 3.0

Im going to get the oil change kit. Plugs should work well. I did mine and I was very happy.

I think the reason people are going from Lubro Moly to something else is that they changed the formula for the purple bottles about 2 years ago. For a while, it was a fully synthetic oil (group 4/5), but then it changed to a group 3 oil, and that is when people started switching. I had the fully synthetic once, and it was great, the next time I got it, it was the new product that was “synthetic” and while it still ran well, it didn’t seem as good as before. Switched over to Motul Xcess for the past 2 oil changes, and it is smoother than the new LubroMoly.

I’m about to hit 100k, and it is right at the time of my oil change. I’ll have to try the motul out, sounds like its our favorite around here.
Since you guys are legit over here, what else do guys recommend for my 100k?
Already done recently, coil packs, plugs, fuel filter, vacuum hoses >:(
Anything else I should pick up to tune my baby back up to par?

I would do the tIming belt if it has not been done. If it has, then change your serpentine belt and the tensioner.

Other than that, do a bottle of Redline sl-1 in the gas tank before you change the oil. Run that tank allow empty then change the oil. That will ensure your injectors are spicknspan.

At filter? A new MAF sensor probably wouldn’t hurt at those miles.

If you plan on going catless, be prepared for your 100k old o2 sensors to kick the bucket. Happens all the time to 4.2 guys. They cant handle the extra flow

Timing belt was done at 75k RIGHT before I bought the car. I went thru hell with tensioner as I replaced that about 6 months ago with a new belt. I have been running techron about once a month and that actually cleared my misfire codes not too long ago. I have been keeping up on the MAF giving it a bath here and there. Also descreened it as Count and I thought it might provide a little better flow.

I have a feeling my o2s are already on their way out so I felt that would have to be addressed while I was in there. How much and should I replace all 4? While I am in there?
