Trolling!!!
Where the hell are you going to put that? In the passenger seat foot rest???
Ok maybe not there, but if you find space somewhere in the rear of the vehicle wont you have some serious turbo lag?

Plasma cutter ftw
it’s amazing we never heard about that car. Hard to believe. It’s in Quebec. I found it on facebook lol.
yeah its quite the unicorn, to me it speaks volumes about how much happens outside of the forum world
Jnaut what turbo is that? Precision something or other?
Is that unicorn still running, if not I wonder how long it lasted?? I’d be surprised if it ever ran right considering the inability of most tuners to tune the S4/RS4 in its N/A form let alone a turbo charged system.
It couldn’t have made a huge power, well not for long at least.
Garrett as for exact specs , not yet as I may try different exhaust housing.
Jnaut, I am glad to hear you are going to pioneer the turbo project for our cars. I gave it some consideration one afternoon, but after a small discussion with people who know a lot more than I do about these cars, we quickly gave up on the challenge.
Question, how do you plan on working the Bosch MED9.0? Are you pulling files from the lp560? Are you altering your fuel supply to accommodate the turbo?
I wish you success and I am sure you will end up with an awesome RS4.
Thanks man!
I never like to step in on another mans party. In this case why turbo? oil lines are going to be a mess then you have to do coolant lines as well. from there you need to tap back into the oil pan and coolant system. Inlet pipes have little to no room. The motor might spin to 8000 rpm but that only adds challenges to a turbo as most shaft speeds will be very taxed at that speed.
Also when you look at the CFM of the 4.2FSI its close to 100% VME that’s in the high 550-600 range. A single turbo to run that kind of CFM is going to be very large.
Is this just a personal venture or are you looking to make a kit.
This in no way is meant to be an attack on what your doing. Its just such a clean car I would hate to see it cut up in the name of one turbo kit when there sounds to be many other options.
No disrespect taken, thanks for your input as thats why I posted what im doing. I have an open mind to other ideas. Not making a kit, just for personal goals. As for coolant/oil lines, this I dont feel to be an issue now for the 8k rpm , yes this is why i might be swapping different exhaust housings.
I guess we will see how it goes… if the shits the bed, ill swap to a turbo vr6.
I’m all about cool ass swaps Jnaut, but don’t’ do that to an RS4…You should pick up a blown B7 S4 for a VR swap. Good luck with your turbo endeavor, I really hope you are successful.
Lol, I here you. I would prefer the 5.2l over vr but I happen to have r32 engine/trans laying around. So much cheaper than a 5.2! But for right now I hope to stay on the no issues with engine route. Hahaha
I’m such a procrastinator… Haven’t done anything to my transmission rebuild. Maybe by 2013…
Please color me extremely jealous!!!
Cool picture. I just couldn’t imagine having to clean the beast after.
BUMP! We need an update on the fastest NA RS4.
How’s the transmission rebuild? How’s the car in general? Any more thoughts on the turbo kit?
Thanks!
