Just had the rear half done. Not sure I like it… maybe it’s too dark.
I didn’t want the almost solid ‘gangsta’ look tint. The guy said this was the standard tint he does on new Audi’s. It does look a bit darker than it is in that light. I think it will grow on me 
Nice. Not sure I’m a fan of only doing the back, but I guess the laws change place to place. I have 3M Crystalline 50 on my car. It looks darker at an angle than it really is. I got the crystalline more for the performance than for the darkness though.

I finially put tint on my car a few years ago. I really am happy with the result. Its helpful when the sun is really beating down and in average driving conditions I feel it makes the car more comfortable. I like that I stayed a little lighter on the tint and didnt go too dark. A friend has tint on his audi and It is a few shades darker then mine. It makes it hard to see at night and when backing up.
Mine is a nice and I find the crystaillne a good inbetween.
It will take a bit to grow on you and I think over time you will move to and be happy with tint upfront. even if its just for the privacy and comfort aspect. From a general car view aspect it looks great. Im with you too dark to me dosent look good and the gangster look just isnt appealing to me.
I had huper optik 40% on my old S4 and it was great. Just dark enough to give a little privacy, but not foolish looking nor tough to see out of.
Also was incredibly effective at keeping heat out.
I think I paid $450 or 500 for it, which is apparently high because of that type of tint material. No idea I just paid it because someone I trusted said it was good.
