k-sport big brakes for me.

So I’m gonna be picking up some brakes soon for track duty. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go with the k-sport 8 pot 13 in. brake setup with 2 piece rotors.

These should fit under stock rims.
I think i’m gonna run 17" light weight wheels at the track, and stock wheels on the street.

I’d like the 14" rotors but I really would like to be able to throw my stock wheels back on so i’m gonna go 13"

I hadn’t heard of them before. Interesting to see they have so many platforms to put this on and the price isn’t too horrific. Very interesting to see that there’s a C4 S4 fitment which I don’t recall ever having seen on the forums.

LW rotors?

My local shop uses the giant 15" brakes on their track duty TT. I promise you they never suffer from brake fade. Should prove to be a good choice.

Yeah, I thought they only did suspension stuff. Then I was surprised when my buddy told me about their brakes. I listened to their sales pitch and after hearing some first hand experience from another person I was sold.
The price didn’t make me want to vomit, so that was good.
Probably gonna get the floating rotor option too. Keep em straight yo.

Yes

Awesome! I’m pretty sure the 13" will keep up with my slow ass.

Huge skip, 8 piston is too much fluid volume. Stick with 6 max on these cars unless you want a messed up bias and to end up swapping master cylinders.

wouldn’t that depend on how big the pistons are?
I fully understand your point, but there are other things to consider besides number of pistons.

I’m pretty sure K-sport brakes are more about show then go.

A local shop used a set on their E90 race car and they had nothing but problems with the K-sport calipers… they even had a brake fluid fire after the dust boots completely disintegrated and caught fire on the hot brakes.

They moved to Brembo’s and said they couldn’t be happier.

I’d also want a monoblock design (IMO) when going with a track caliper.

especially on a B5…there are so many great options, and when you consider the size of the used parts market, I’d go tried and true, personally.

Thanks for the input guys, I’ll shop around a little more and see what i come up with.
