L.A. Auto Show - lots of neat stuff

  1. Audi concept revealed expected to be the new A9 - I think it’s just a big worn bar of soap with a far too wide grill

  1. Mustang Shelby GT350 with a flat crank V8 and an 8000+ RPM redline - should sound interesting

  1. Cadillac ATS-V - 450ish hp and torque, twin turbo 6, compact fun size, busy as fuck face. RWD though…so I’m out.

  1. Audi R8 competition - basically they keep tweaking it to keep up with the old Gallardo models. Now making 570hp

  1. Jaguar F type gets manual transmission and AWD options! Pretty cool. Nice new hood too for the AWD cars.

Saw that GT350 the other day, looks amazing…I like how the mustang has changed as of late. Some of their lighting choices are questionable but the bodies look great.

The Jags are some of the best looking cars on the road, cool that they’re adding Awd.

The interior of that Audi concept is pretty incredible. Dynamic displays all over the place.

I wonder when Porsche is going to announce the rumored Cayman GT4.

The audi A9 just isn’t doing it for me. I think audi is just getting too many lines.

If they stick with the idea of making 2 door cars in the odd number brands that might work but I just don’t know that audi needs all these lines.

how bout a Q8

yuck

^ that’s horrible.

I can’t even think how someone would clear that to be made.

If Audi comes out with the Q8, I will have lost all respect for them. Plain and simple. The X6 is the most useless car in my opinion and the Q8 would be no different.

That looks like an old drawing.

You’re right. Try this from: https://www.geeky-gadgets.com/new-audi-q8-suv-in-the-works-20-11-2014/

Also extremely cool: (from http://www.motoringview.com/volkswagen-reveals-golf-r-variant-ahead-los-angeles-auto-show/)

Great idea with the Golf R, I just wish it was more aggressive looking than that.

A car that really tries to be 911 but never admits it…

Sorry I am a bit bitter tonight

You quoted 5 cars…?

Clearly it was needed to post two lines… ;D

Which car was he referring to? The jag? The r8?

I think there are comments mixed in with the quoted pictures.

The Jaguar F type received the comment “A car that really tries to be 911 but never admits it…”
as far as I can tell.

The R8 comment was
“A car that will never ever be on a Gallardo level regardless what they stuff in it…”

ahh okay. What a miserable bunch of comments lol . weird one about the R8

I’d take an R8 over a Gallardo 100 times in a row. Having a few friends with various versions of these cars, the R8 guys are definitely happier with their cars.

Easy to drive - R8
Visibility (looking out) - R8
Comfort - R8 (by far)
Daily Drivability - R8 (by far)
lack of finnickiness - R8 (by far)
Build quality- similar, but the R8 seems to be far less troublesome, and you don’t have to find a lamborghini dealer to fix it

The Gallardo is a hair faster, a bit louder (same sound but louder), a bit more exotic looking (but the R8 still looks like the future and gets loads of attention and they are equally rare), and basically allows you to say ‘I have a lamborghini’ if that is something you like to tell people.

Otherwise, the R8 is a pretty easy choice.

I have always thought this myself. The Gallardo just seems like a keychain obsession.

Though I have never had an opportunity to drive either of these cars, don’t know anyone personally who *owns either one, and can’t honestly ever see shelling out the kind of cash needed to buy one myself (maybe a used R8 some day.)
