Lol!

Ohhhhh myyyyyy fucking gawddddddd… The exhaust is insane!!!

I threw it on a couple of weeks ago and literally drove 5 mins to my house parked the car… Never really got to hear it at all as the car was still cold, With the interior landed and with today and tomorrow being sunny, I decided to throw some permits on and take her for a spin… Im speechless… The seats the exhaust.

Onto other news, did a throttle body adaption and cleared any codes I did have, which was only for the car having a dead battery, after that took it for a quick burn, I noticed a slight ping initially, actually noticed it a couple of times, although after a 30 min drive, I purposely put it in 5th gear around 1700 rpm, and matted it… I heard nothing, I tried again, this time on a hill trying to increase the loadI on the engine, and again no pinging. From what I can see it has been fixed! I still have IM spacers to install, and will do a CC at that time… But holy Crap does the stock exhaust hold the car back!

I’ll update more tomorrow after some more km’s!

Happy New Year everyone!

Awesome! Those seats really do look great.

^Haha, they certainly packed these extremely well!

Yessir! Dru has been fantastic to deal with, very up front and answers any questions I do have! Great guy!

From my understanding my motor would be number 2 on the customer list, number 3 overall. I have no doubt they will be testing it pretty thoroughly, and your above statement about “may as well go full retard while you’re in there though.” makes complete sense to me! If I’m going to be investing money into the car I want to make sure she’s rock solid, and going to be able to handle the abuse! I have no doubt the stock block and internals can handle a stage 2 setup, I just want that added piece of mind.

My buddy Nigel Is exactly like that… Flat brim hats… Still has the gigantic sticker on it… I remember doing that back in highschool ::slight_smile: lol

Why was it pinging? Are you tuned?

Yes 91 Oct JHM. I have no idea why it was pinging?

I even drove downtown last night and went through the tunnels, spent alot of time trying to see if I could get it to ping. I couldn’t hear anything. Although when I stopped grabbed a tank of gas, when I restarted the car all was fine, within the next 10 of me leaving the gas station, and entering the highway, the Chek Engine came on. Car still drove fine and had no issues, im just getting up now but I’m gonna head to the shop to grab the vag com and scan it. I have a feeling an O2 sensor kicked the bucket.

Forgot To say Saki, pre-cats looked fine, didn’t seem to be plugged at all. They’re still at the shop so I can snag some photos if needed.

I’m not to savy with the vag-com, but if needed I can do some logging this afternoon? Would just need to be pointed in the right direction on how to do it. Thoughts?

Clogged cats are difficult to judge by looking alone…great to hear your car is running issie free…I would still keep an eys out…I think the exhaust is making the car run better…I would still keep an eye out…

When a reset my ecu…it takes a second for the jhm tune to readapt too…that makes sence that after driving the car is running better…

Those seats are crazy…Ths seats…exhaust… tune working good…that has to be a total transformation…

I Cleared them, and the same DTC code came up, no check engine light, drove the car for a couple hours after that and can say I haven’t heard any pinging, Monday me and Jeff are going to go for a boot and do some logs.

I was shocked by the amount of people giving me the thumbs up, and signaling me to roll my windows down, to ask me questions “the car sounds fantastic/amazing” was usually the first words they said! LoL

After the headaches with the ping, the car was more of a burden then anything, if I did have to drive I was scared to hurt it… Although I can honestly say after driving around today the excitement about the car is back! And I’m Soooo very excited to start Project: Pandora, which btw i think is a very fitting name

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday evening!

I was thinking that about the cats? I kind of had a picture in my mind that I’d take off the downpipe and see a big piece of gunk there. They looked normal although the drivers side did seem to weigh alittle more. I will definitely be keeping an eye on her, I will know more once I get the manifold off.

I figured that about the tune, something both Dru and Jake had said to me the first couple hours after the flash it’s setting it’s self up So to speak.

Chris the excitement of owning an RS4 is definitely back! It was really nice to get the car out and just drive!

COuld have just been bad gas.

This pinging issue…is this an old issue or a new issue? You mentioned it was a headache? I can’t remember.

You shoudl try to run 93 or 94 if you can. The 91 tune is good for high 90s…i.e. it will make gains going from 91 to 93…or from 91 to 94.

Why was it pinging? Are you tuned?

This is the same ping I’ve had all along, was coming from the driver side, been a headache cause I’ve been thinking about it this whole time, finally getting the exhaust on and driving the car kinda relieves that headache/stress I should say.

Only fill up with chevron 94, if I can’t get that I’ll run shell 91, both newer gas stations.

After clearing the codes I just cruised around town running some errands, no chek light came up, heading out to a friends I had a buddy following, gave it good 2-3-4 on the on ramp, and had the chek light come back on. I got a feeling it’s the O2 again, I’ll scan it tomorrow once I get to the shop.

Wow awesome seats!
