Lifting S6 with 2-post lift for 1st time

Basic questions: where do people place pad on unibody? The black plastic mounts used for the portable jack, or just inboard of that on pinch weld seam? Also, what type of lift pads are recommended—flat round ones ok? Finally, where is the CG on this car, just forward of the front seats?

Just trying to be super careful.

It’s always a great idea to be extra safe especially when your getting under the car.

For me I use the Jack spots you would use with the OEM jack. And I use special jack wedges. Let me see if I can find pictures of each

Home depo has these they work fantastic. I highly recommend

I bought an extra set of lifting pads for my lift and bolted short lengths of pipe to them which were then filled with epoxy

Justin, so those blocks would go on the pads, and then be placed on the pinch weld seam behind the unibody jacking points?

Eng, that’s clever. I’ll think it’s $300 for another set of lift pads, so not sure if I can swing that.

Yes in the front right at the pitch weld lip. The lip would obviously go in the blocks. Both font and back
