So I wanted to get some opinions on my lighting options, My friend recommended these bulbs here for replacement. They are 5$ more each than a genuine set from the dealer. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them, and also if anyone has any other recommendations for replacement bulbs. I am really OCD on using genuine parts other than my JHM mods but I would really like some better lighting. I wanted to do a good bulb upgrade and also wanted to research matching my fogs as well.

Get those or the Osram SVS bulbs. The CBI and SVS bulbs are the brightest you can buy from everything I read, just depends on what color temp you want. CBIs are 5-5500k and SVSs are ~4300k.

I know it sounds like a douche thing to do, but I wanted to go 6 or 8k, and have like a blue light. I know it reduces lighting but I was going to go for looks, In the end I just bought these, I haven’t installed them yet I have a pile of parts to get on that I’m trying to get organized. My buddy has them on his C5 and they look pretty cool.

I’d like to add to this thread, does anyone know anything about making HID fog lights??

I just got my bulbs in the mail the other day,

      I wanted to wait to install them untill i got some fog lights  so I could do it at the same time for a nice change. And someone on here I think it was count who mentioned doing the fog light matching when I first joined.  So I was hoping there was another way to get HID fogs, I just don't know about these kits, theres something about them that just seem cheap, or not the proper way or something I can't put my finger on it. Are there any fog lights in a newer Audi that are HID where I could do some kind of swap/ conversion of parts and keep using genuine parts? instead of using one of these kits?

I would avoid HID fogs unless you get projectors and swap them in as well. Otherwise, you’ll have a lot of light going everywhere that may make fog driving worse. I am thinking of finding yellow halogen bulbs to put into my fog lights rather than going HID to get more useful light from my fogs when I need them, and a better look as well.

I’m not a fan of the yellow lights. I just wanted them to match. I don’t care about function. How often you find yourself in a monster cloud of fog anyways, maybe if you live on the beach. yea you might want function. I live in the high altitude desert so there is never any fog here. I’m just going for aesthetics

Does anyone know if these would do what I’m wanting? They say they are bulbs for B6/B7 fog lights and they give you different options for temp and color. I just want it to match my osrams.

So I installed my bulbs, they look great!, good output, equal to that of genuine bulb and better color. I’m very happy with them. I did some reading on AZ and found that HOEN is going to give me the best result for matching fogs that I’m looking for and I think should get a good match with the Osrams, so i ordered a set and we’ll see when they get here. But this guy on AZ posted some pics that looked pretty good so I think it should turn out how I want.

For sure, yea those yellow’s are pretty nice and from what I read they have great reviews. I just got my xenon matching today. I was thinking of doing yellow but just this one time I’m going for looks over function. Figure it doesn’t matter because I never see fog where I live.
