Here’s a dyno plot they posted (from their dyno) showing an APR Stage II V2.0 tuned B8 S4 vs. an offtheshelf EPL 91 octane B5 S4 with K04 turbos.

This is the usual AMD bullshit…and this is why they have a TERRIBLE reputation. Jason:addict posted this in a B5 S4 thread talking about B8 vs. B5. .

Who the fuck on earth believes these lies? For one, a B8 with APR stage II V2 on any reasonable dyno should make a pretty easy 360-370 whp/360wtq. Even funnier still, just about no catted K04 B5 in the history of earth on straight 91 octane fuel has dyno’d 400 wtq and 360 whp.

They are not wrong about how torqey those K04 cars at low rpm, now wonder it is a great street car setup.

I dont know, I disagree on the b5 and b8 comments based off what I have seen myself. It seems a little odd to talk about them and not have them commenting. if its a valid BS then it will come out. invite jason and ask whats the deal.

The apr b8 stuff isnt slow but its not rocket ship. ko4 b5 s4s on legal exhaust and 91 can still be very strong, for a few pulls. the b8 is on a 93 file and if in WA likely doesnt have 93 in it and is riding the knock sensors hard. seriously, even with just that it throws the tune into failsafe areas for knock and everything goes downhill power wise because they have very aggressive safety nets…

im just guessing. more guessing… the b5 looks to have hit a limit and cut then ramped back up, maybe it was peaked out on the 91 and was unstable, real world the b8 would win right?

it would be funny to make really legit dyno sheets just blatant enough to make people who pay close attention freak out online.

I think you are looking for a B8 owner to comment? Well my car made 361WHP and 345WTQ on ECS’s Mustang dyno running 100 octane, this was on APR v1 and I am now on v 1.5(beta tune)… Sorry not much of a dyno guy as I am more into drag racing… Car went 11.79 in 550 DA and trapped 118+ a few times… As for it being a rocket ship, not sure who claimed that? IMO it is a fairly impressive platform given it’s weight(mines at 4,100+ with me in it and 1/8 tank)… Has any K03 turbo B5 gone that fast?

I would love to run one of these K04, Tial, etc B5’s… Do you know anyone in the Cleveland OH area? I had a few guys PM me last year and say they would come to the strip with me but it never happened… I go pretty much every Wed. and Sat. in one of my cars so if you know anyone point me to them and we could try to arrange something… We can do some roll races after as well if needed… I’ll get everything on vid as well…

Nice one primetime. I think people wanted to race you when your good times looked like a fluke. Once you ran strong 10 weeks in a row, all the challengers…fizzled.

Its a shame. Too much pride out there. Who fucking cares if you lose a pull I say. Its fun as hell. Its tantamount to not showing up for your hockey or baseball because you might lose or not eating a nice dinner in case you don’t like the food. So strange. I mean why do people buy/build these cars? The 2.0T cars are plenty nice and fuel efficient. Why buy/build a performance focused car (and pay a huge premium) if you’re just going to dyno it?.

I wanted to run him.around two years ago and I never had the chance because my engine blew up on its vast tune and blown head gaskets lol. would have been a good run 12.2 @ 117 with a 2.0ish 60ft.

I honestly don’t see anything wierd about the dyno results. 91 oct sucks and 360 is far from crazy for a stage 3 car. There was an APR tuned stage 3 that made about that on 93 not too long ago and their pump tune is weak as hell.

Guess so…but idon’t lose sight. This is a lightly modified stage 3 car running 91 octane, not 93. Running no meth. Yet it is dynoing some excellent numbers that we just don’t see from stage 3 cars on terrible fuel. 360/400 is excellent…as in top quartile of all basic stage III cars on pump (let alone 91) for that car’s modlist. What happened to the ‘heartbreaker’ AMD dyno?

On the other hand, the B8 S4 (which dynos up to 330 whp stock lol) is dynoing as if this is one of the toughest dynos around. Also, as I mentioned, the B8 tuned makes steadily increasing power to redline…but the dyno was ended at 6500, a full 500 rpm short (600 if it’s a manual car).

It appears that the AMD dyno is only a heartbreaker when it’s measuring a direct competitor’s products and/or when it’s a B5 vs. comparison.

There is a dyno close by to AMD. Have them take the cars over there and see what’s what!
