My wife misses that giant dog you saw at our place, the one who kept shitting on my backyard - he’s back at his old house with her brother. I’m trying to convince her to get the boxer she always wanted.
I like the idea of having a good sized dog. Makes burglars reconsider stealing your cars by breaking in to get your keys. If I was a burglar, I think I’d pass on the house with a dog. I get the impression they generally do the same.
Luke Donald FTW.
Hamilton + Ross Brawn next season? Could be fun. I’ve come round to the fact that is a good move for him. At the end of the day, it’s the same team that came from nowhere to get Jenson his title, so who knows.
Saki’s photos - awesome!
Nikon D90 - I probably use 10% of the potential of the camera but I love it. I have 3 different lenses for it and I still cant get over the pics i can get away with using it as a total amateur.
I miss having dogs around - wife’s alergic.
Dammit I left all the camera forums to avoid the temptation of getting one again :’(. Canon guy myself, I had a canon 300D with a few lenses. I like using Nikon better, but Canon at the time was much less expensive and had a great lens selection. Not sure how it is now I’ve been out of the slr scene for years now.
Stick with the 300d; it’s a great camera. Lots of good lens options on both sides. Use your money for a good photog book or a copy of Photoshop: D
I sold it in 2007 unfortunately. Not sure what I’d get now. Loved the lens options for canon. the autofocus on one of my lenses was so fast it was ridiculous. I think I spent more time in photoshop than I did taking pictures lol. It’s pretty amazing the level of control you have on the post production of a photo, it’s probably even more now.
Me and a friend got into it around the same time, but I think he does photography as a career now.
+1 on the D90, it’s amazing…at the time it did everything their best consumer camera did, the D300, for less than $1000.
For that matter, any dSLR will make your pictures amazing. It’s a shame the smartphone market has stolen a lot of people’s disposable income enough to make them think they don’t need this essential item. Thanks to the smartphone, people’s kids, family, friends, cars, homes are all captured nowadays for memories with awful colours, shitty apertures and speeds, and no depth of field.
Conversely, I took this thread off topic to show that even with an absolute baller camera, you can still end up with shit pictures, though. I originally looked at Treynor’s exif data to see if, maybe, it was taken with an iPhone…lol wouldn’t that have been hilarious…
I was waiting for the D800 to come out but now I think I’ll get a used D700 once I have the money.
I find myself more often in low light situations than landscape photos.
I think you meant to say too much depth of field
