Loss of power when shifting at WOT occasionally

Hey all,

The 2008 S6 with JHM ECU Stage 1 & TCU w/ STC has been doing great as a daily, we are wrapping up a 2000 mile road trip tomorrow. The normal misfires on cold start seem to be better with it running so many miles a day too, but its due for a carbon clean.

Today I had to push hard to get to speed as someone was flying up behind me, and when it went to shift into second all power cut. I let off then was able to continue accelerating but while holding the throttle it didn’t seem to lock into second or accelerate, RPM’s did drop. I thought it was traction control but didn’t notice any lights at all on the dash; we were in higher elevation than usual too.

Any ideas on what to look at or is it possible traction control is just activating without any lights?

Afternoon, I have similar issues on my 2011 S6. As long as I hold traction control button for about 3-5 seconds it will shut down TCS as much as possible with these cars. I know you said you didn’t see any TC lights flash or blink while the issue was present. But I can assure you once you follow the TCS disable procedure you will no longer have an issue. My 2011 is the 3rd C6 S6 I’ve owned all have been fully tuned ECM/TCM with full bolt ons from JH Motorsports. Every time I really hammer down on her I will get the cut out you describe if I don’t cancel TCS. As long as I do cancel it she is an absolute savage…
Good Luck

Thank you for confirming, that was my suspicion.

If there was a way to automate disabling TCS or prevent it from turning on during cruise control that would be choice but I’ll do that.
