Thanks guys. I cant believe it myself that it is finally here, it has been one stressful purchase that is for sure.
I got it out of the box last night, the box was massive and could possible hold 3 engine if you tried hard enough.
I purchased the engine of ebay and it came with the lot wiring harness, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds the lot really.

The engine came out of an 03 car

So while I have the engine it wont be going in straight away, couple of things that need to get done. I will put a new timing belt and water pump in and do all the maintenance stuff i.e. coils, plugs, oil, sensors and anything else that would be easier to do with the engine out. I also need to get the exhaust fabed up (headers and Dps).
Hows this coming? Any updates?

I have had to put it on hold for a bit due to some personal stuff. Also my computers are still over at JHM being tuned and Keaton sent me an email yesterday saying that my ECU and TCU are completely different to any other international computers they have had. So it is taking count a bit longer due to the challenges.
What do you think about the ride quality with the H&R/Bilstein combo? I’ve looked for reviews and a lot of people say they are too stiff for DD duty, but they are also all on the 1.8T.
I liked the ride quality, it is nice and firm and makes the car feel tight.
It is more stiff than the stock sport suspension, I certainly didn’t mind it for DD duties
I’m on stock non-sport ATM, and though my suspension is pretty old, it’s almost to harsh on some of the roads around here (stupid freeze/thaw cycle). I was thinking of getting the combo, but after recent reviews, I may look for something else. Thanks for the info

At this stage the exhaust will be stock…as the car has been off the road so long that if it was modded i would have a problem getting passed…but my exhaust will be the good oem manifolds with jhm dps and fi catback.
After much comments and thought the ss headers are not really worth the hassell of making a custom dp and open them up the 2.5 inch that the be n e f i t will be worth the effort…so i am either going to flog them off to some poor sucker or it is going be some expensive garage wall art lol
