M3 Stolen via OBD key cloning....on closed circuit surveillance

Wow…this really sucks for M3 owners.

Hear about this, scary stuff. Not sure how the thief got in the vehicle to do the download so easily though. Why didn’t a car alarm go off?

no idea.

the guy said someone was poking around the car in that spot a couple of nights before, shone a light of some sort on the windshield near the VIN plate

perhaps they made the key off the VIN?

I can’t imagine coming out to my driveway and my car not being there.
