Mangrove to Iphone

haha try talking to an apple fanboy. My friend was telling me how we’re not going to have a wallet in 2 or 3 years because Apple decided to get into mobile payments with Apple Pay

Hmmm

-Health card? Apple getting in on that too?
-Driver’s license? That sounds safe…we’ll let Apple control everyone on earth’s ID now. The governments at municipal/ state/province/county/federal levels will all get along and sort that out pronto I’m sure.
-Cash? Some places aren’t going to take Apple. Will I have a slot on my iPhone to shove some quarters?
-Loyalty cards etc? I guess Apple is going to look after that for every business/store on earth?
-Gift cards? And that. Should again be easy to get them all to agree. Pretty easy.

Those things make me feel like I’m going to still have a wallet.

Nevermind the fact that now, I pull out a card and touch it to a card reader (we have fast pay/easy pay/tap here…America will too one day) and then I put it back in my pocket. I don’t have to log in to my credit card. I don’t have to turn it on. I don’t have to worry about keeping the battery in my credit card charged so I don’t get stranded because my credit card doesn’t have a battery.

There’s a saying in business that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Card Payments already works reasonably.

Except maybe fraud which is where card payments have had their problems for banks/etc. So this is where Apple may help. As Kate Upton and Jennifer Lawrence learned last month, Apple security is top notch

Haven’t worn a wallet in ages. Very uncomfortable, and it’s probably not good for your back.

I’m not sure “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” applies to business. Isn’t that basically were everything comes from? Innovation. The original cellphone worked, why shrink it down? Why put a screen on it why gve it internet access why give it a full keyboard? Why? Because people will pay for it. That’s business fill the needs of society even when they don’t know they have those needs yet.

you’re confusing the words innovation and invention

inventing something that nobody needs and that doesn’t improve anything is not innovation or innovative

But it always has. Original cellphone was huge, made it smaller. Sending text messages was complicated on a 9 digit key pad so they made a full keyboard for phones. People didn’t want to lug around laptops so they have the phone internet connectivity. At least in phones invention always is innovation. I mean what’s the probability that some random feature that you won’t use won’t help someone else? Like a 5.5 screen that seems outrageous and unneeded to me but to someone who always carries a tablet this is a wonderful innovation.

I thought that had nothing to do with apples security? Just weak passwords that these guys ran basic programs on until they were solved?

Either way you look at it. iCloud isn’t advertised as a Fort Knox server. It’s used to store notes and backups of shit on your phone. Uploading nudeZ to your iCloud is no better than Flickr or photobucket, the second you put them online you lose your security

I was really hoping that they were going to announce remote tuning via the vehicles on board 4G internet service. Call in, pay over the phone, supply your vin, wait 20-30 minutes and you car is now tuned.

That’s the fucking point…they (apple) allowed unlimited attempts at the passwords.

The next week they quietly stopped that and limited mobile login attempts to a small number (smaller than infinity lol)

That is the definition of dogshit security.

none of those things you mentioned allow unlimited password attempts. You get shut down.

Which model iPhone do you have? My applefanboyradar is off the charts reading your posts. Hey, what store are you lined up at? Can I bring you a warm coffee and a blanket? going to be chilly tonight…

I would be more upset about their low security if it hadn’t of brought us the glory that is Jennifer Lawrence.

Which model iPhone do I have? What are you some kind of jokester? I have all the models, they will be worth millions some day, you’ll look back and say oh shit why didn’t I buy a 10 pack of each iPhone model ever made and sold them today at a bazillion dollars worth, and I’ll call you up and say “haaaaaaaaaaa” and then rub all my money on the phone mic so you can hear it and then hang up

I’m at the cherry creek apple store in Denver co, day 3, I’ve run out of food, and water. I’ll have to drink my own piss, whatever it takes to have the new iPhone before everyone else haz it! Coffee and a blanket would be very generous though

Lol. I’m not really a Fanboi of anything when it comes to electronics. I’m a Fanboi of what I need. All I need a phone for is calling, texting and tapatalking, but yes I do have an iPhone, a 4s, because it still works just as well for my needs. I will say it’s just a natural step for anyone who isn’t a phone freak. For example I could care less about having a million features on my phone, I need it for three things, and having to reprogram a new phone and transfer my contacts and setup new accounts that’s tedious and all so I can switch to a “better” phone.

Upgrading through apple, I go buy my phone, plug it in, come back in an hour and it’s good to go. Seamless. Now if I was the kind of person that freaked about new cellphones I would be all over a 6+ or a samsung (insert coolest samsung model here). But I’m not, I don’t care for personalizing a phone, or adding magical features that I will use once a decade, what I need is simplicity, an easy to use interface, and basic features.

That said I also own two mac laptops, two desktops, a mini and a pro, three iPods, two iPhones, an iPad, and an Apple TV. So call me a Fanboi for loving the integration
I also own two windows laptops,I will occasionally open them up only to find that they run so slow and terribly that it’s actually faster to run windows in VMware on my mac.

But I would still love some hot cocoa and a blanket if you wouldn’t mind.

I guess I’m a bit of an Apple fanboi. Apple collection includes 13" Macbook, 17" Macbook Pro, 27" iMac (that’s fucking broken at the moment), iPhone 1, 3G, 4, 4S, and 6 Plus (coming soon), and an old school iPod.

So . . . Apple Fanboi Thread - who’s going to start it?

Edit: forgot about the iPad 3

I hate Apple so I say start a thread quickly. Go hug each other over there with your bastard equipment that is over priced. Just playin but I still hate Apple.

The AFC! Apple Fanboi club. We should really start this club and have weekly g2g’s

iPhone 6 pre order here.

This is new one is gonna totally change my life.

I here it actually goes jogging for you now.

Yes, but only if you have the Apple Watch as well. ;D

I like to diversify… The house has got a note 2, galaxy s2, ipad air, 2 win7 laptops, ipod touch, ps3 and a chrome cast. And pebble watch.

The stupid thing about the watch is that people are totally missing the fact that you can only answer calls if you have an earpiece/headphones, and you still have to take out your phone to reply to a text!

It’s the same scrutiny the Samsung watch got, but for some reason everyone is totally overlooking this for the Apple watch?! I don’t get it.

Yes I am an Apple hater.

LOL - my house is similar. Equal opportunity technology zone.

4 windows computers (3 lap/1 desk), 3 iPads, 2 iPhones, 1 kindle, 2 PS3s… and a closet full of obsolete technology!

Haven’t tried an android phone yet. Went straight from blackberry to iPhone. Probably won’t happen as long as my office keeps paying for the phones.

And they purposefully didn’t tell us the battery life. Probably less than a day.

But you are missing the point of the watch if you think its a phone replacement vs. complimentary device.

For example, the fitness angle alone will be reason enough to buy this – which is my reason to purchase.
