Mangrove to Iphone

Well obviously you care since you decided to take it upon yourself to call me a liar. You’re doing nothing more than being a complete asshole for no reason. Resorting to personal attacks is not cool. Calling people alcoholics is not cool.

All I did was make a somewhat true statement/JOKE about my friends. Please stop trying to act like you’re better than me. All you did was call BS on my PERSONAL story and then back it up with your own PERSONAL story. See what I’m getting at? Everyone has different experiences. Just cause you’ve gotten lucky doesn’t make everyone else stupid.

Wow, whatever Quad.

Go look up the “urban” definition of bullshit, then go take a piss so you can flush all this shit down the urinal and carry on with the rest of your day.

/bitchfest
/off-topic BS

quadfreak…well…freaked

It’s not that serious dude. I think he was just saying it takes a lot to break them.

I kinds agree, I had an iPhone with out a case I dropped dozens of times working on Planes, no cracks. But one day I dropped it fucking around one of our tool boxes and it fell perfectly flat…and cracked like a mother. So if you drop it exactly “wrong” haha, its pretty east to screw one up.

First: Sorry, where did I ‘marginalize’ the original iphone?

Second: no, all cell phones including Apple are a copy of the blackberry os

Go look at the ‘graphical interface’ on a 10 year old blackberry…colour screen, colour icons, internet, email, text, etc

All apple did was make the screen full phone…but then again there were other phones out that already had a slide out keyboard, and full screen so can hardly call it revolutionary, other than they introduced the worst fucking way to type on a phone ever (and made ‘autocorrect’ part of the lexicon)

Third: now you’re talking about profitability as evidence of dominance…that’s cute. Apple is around 13-14% market share. Android is around 80%.

I just don’t understand how what I said was a lie or me talking out of my ass.

Yes I know it takes a lot to crack them. I drop my phone a lot and I have cracked a screen before. That’s not what I have the issue with.

Anyways. It’s football Sunday. I’m going to enjoy a few beers and hope I don’t get too drunk and crack my phone screen! /s

Some forget that iPhone had the best touchscreen in the market (by far) for several years. It was an amazing advancement over the other systems out there… and when combined with the much larger screen size, it was a surefire hit.

Why they stopped capitalizing on the advantage of OS + screen + touch… is beyond me. Competition caught up and passed them, and they acted like it didn’t matter. It did.

I actually ONCE (and only once) witnessed an iphone screen crack and it wasn’t from 6 feet off the ground by a drunk person.

We were at my gf’s sister place having a bbq in the back yard. My gf’s sister’s iphone was lying on top of a portable radio playing music (so about 6 inches off the ground, resting atop the radio). My friend decides he wants to switch to the next song. He leans backwards in his chair and awkwardly grabs the phone, arm stretched out behind him, tries to grab the iphone to hit “next” but fumbles the phone due to his positioning. Phone drops 6 inches onto the ground and the entire screen cracks.

I had to hold my laughter in 'cause the sister freaked out.

Anyway, all that to say, a 6" drop by a non-drunk guy shattered the screen. Didn’t take much.

it’s funny, something like 1/3 of my iPhone friends had/have shattered iPhones. For whatever reason, the iPhone user who shatters his fragile iPhone seems to keep it for a while, whereas other phone people just get a new phone and move on.

Why’s that? Is it expensive to replace an iPhone? Maybe the pricing is the limiter.

I do know that to get the new iPhone 6+ with 128 GB of storage it costs $1079 here. I think it’s $969 in America. That’s fucking retarded.

Especially when you consider it has only 1 GB of RAM, a 13 MP main camera and a 2 mp front camera, a 1920x1080 screen and a host of other modest specifications. Yet, the Apple folks will buy the fuck out of it at that price.

Wonder what a 2 year contract will do to reduce that price?

^^ My 6 Plus at 64gb is $399 with a 2-year contract from AT&T, plus a one-time upgrade fee of $39. I also plan on getting a case, so that will probably tack on another $50.

I believe the 128gb version is $100 more, same AT&T terms.

My 64gb regular 6 was $299 with 2yr contract…all Apple nuts that I know have traded in their “old” 5/5s for credit towards the new phone, supposedly upwards of $200; meaning they traded their 16gb 5/5s for a brand new 16gb i6.

I was going to trade in my 4S (Apple offered $115), but I think now I’m just going to keep it to use at the gym (music, emails, internet, etc.). I think the 6 Plus will be too big to wear in an armband at the gym like I do now with the 4S.

Just sell it on craigslist.

People love buying phones without a contract. Lots of ghetto buyers.

I imagine that’s all Apple does with it. So why take $115 instead of say $150.

As for using it at the gym, won’t that be a bit cumbersome? How are you going to access the internet etc? Does your gym have wifi? The 4 weighs a ton, so it’s also not ideal as an armband device is it?

Yes, $100 more pretty much everywhere.

You should just get a good skin that snaps on and protects all the edges and the back. Get one in a mall kiosk for $20. I had a nice carbon fibre one on my Samsung note. I left it on the couch one night and when I came down in the morning my dog had turned it to confetti.

It’s actually not bad. I’ve used the 4S at the gym (with an old iPod armband) for 2.5 years now and haven’t had an issue. My gym does have wifi throughout, so it’s easy to stay current on emails, etc.

I’ll check out those skins you referenced. Generally not a fan of cases, but I think it’s worth having some kind of protection for the 6+.

Wow unlocked note 3 at $600 is a bargain!

Gonna go test drive some new iphones tonight!

So I went to the apple store, tried out both the 6 and 6+…

I didn’t buy anything, first off.

It didn’t feel like it was worth $400. It was basically the same phone, I’m going to order a new battery for my 4s, that will be a much more cost effective idea.

I will say over the past few days I’ve held several android phones, HTC, samsung, and nothing felt quite as nice as the iphone 6. I mean you hold it and its perfection. It’s light yet it feels like its made perfectly for your hand, the buttons are easy to reach, I’m glad they relocated the power button although it threw me off every time i wanted to lock it.

But that said, its the design that got me, the design is magnificent, nothing feels better than the iphone 6, in my opinion, but When I started playing with it…well it was the same shit as my phone, It was notably quicker, but the camera didn’t seem much better honestly, the screen was killer, super nice quality, when I put it in my pocket, the 6+ it did feel huge, but I felt that I could quickly grow to accept it. I liked it, I’m not gonna lie.

But it comes down to its the same shit I have right now. So until my 4s blows up or I drop it into the ocean ( tough luck in a landlocked state) , I think i’ll wait to buy a new phone.

So basically you like the galaxy s5?

thats pretty much EXACTLY what im saying
