So we have all been watching the mickf29 failboat sailing since late 2008 when he got his B7 RS4. For whatever reason, he has made it his personal mission to portray JHM as some evil entity ever since then. It started with his JHM short throw shifter that his shop (shiny floors/work on Porsches, thus they must be good, right?) Futrell/Futile charged him $1000 to install the shifter, only to NOT install it lol. Mick made a point of slamming JHM for that every chance he could for a year…even though JHM has sold well over a thousand of these things and have NEVER had someone unable to install it (let alone get charged $1000 to not install it!)
For some reason for his next major modification (JHM clutch/flywheel), he chose the same shop that couldn’t install a shifter. Uh oh. Well, sure enough internet battle featuring mick vs. jhm ensued when Futrell/Futile couldn’t get the parts installed. After a lengthy phone conversation with JHM, Futrell got the parts put on, but only after JHM told them repeatedly, in detail what steps to follow. Futrell blew them off, letting JHM know that they work on Porsches and race cars and they know what they’re doing. This turns out not to be the case, as we already knew from the shifter debacle, but we’ll later learn that the shifter was not an anomaly.
Both issues were resolved eventually, and Mick ate crow and publicly posted that HE/FUTRELL WERE WRONG…and JHM WAS RIGHT.
Mick’s anti-JHM campaign parts 1 and 2: DEBUNKED (by himself…kudos to him for stepping up)
Mick then bought a slew of JHM parts, including tune, exhaust, LWCP, LWRR etc. In the past couple of months, he has gone 180 degrees from pro-JHM to anti-JHM. In his latest round of crazy internet drama, Mick has decided to just LIE in his pursuit of vilifying JHM.
Most recently, he started fear mongering threads claiming his JHM tune was running crazy lean because his logs show a lean spike when revving it in neutral in his driveway…and thus JHM was endangering his motor…“why would JHM do this to me???” he asked on quattroworld. Well, a quick log of my bone stock RS4 showed that EVERY FUCKING RS4 ON EARTH DOES THIS. http://audirevolution.net/forum/index.php?topic=711.msg16814#msg16814
It cuts the injectors on rundown when revving under no load, spikes super lean for a millisecond, then stabilizes.
Mick’s anti-JHM campaign part 3: DEBUNKED
Next, he sold his JHM 2.75" exhaust and downpipes. On his classified ads on the forums he described it as ‘EXCELLENT’, and made zero mention of any blemishes. A customer in the UK bought it, and received it a short time later. Around this time, Mick decided to join his friends at their new exhaust company to try their product…and this is when the lies started rolling in. First Mick said the quality of the JHM exhaust wasn’t good. Then he said the tips were wrong. Then he said the mufflers were warped. Then he said the exhaust hung so low it scraped badly in a few places. And on and on and on.
When were you lying…when you sold it as near mint/excellent? Or when you said it was in rough shape while trying to hurt JHM’s reputation to bolster your buddy baby-huey exhaust co? Because those two things can’t both be true.
Unfortunately for Mick, the guy who bought his exhaust is a member on RS246 and was asking me for advice on the purchase price etc the whole time…and when I followed up with him to find out how it was, what with Mick slamming the quality left and right, he said the following:
like i said before i was happy with the deal i did with mick and im 100% happy with the quality of the exhaust. mick described his exhaust as excellent condition when i bought it.
we had agreed a deal and were sorting the shipping when i read online about micks car bottoming out with the jhm exhaust and collecting a few scrapes, so raised this point with mick and he said it only had a few marks from scraping and only on the “v” band itself, anyway when it came i looked it over and the scraping was super minimal, my milltek i removed was a lot worse for scrapes so mick was being fussy.
however at no point did mick mention warping or wrinkling of the back boxes nor did he mention any concerns about the build quality or country of origin of the sebring mufflers. the first time i heard any mention of this was on the internet well after i had received the exhaust.
when i received the exhaust the back boxes and tips were painted black (very badly) so i stripped all the paint off with thinners. i didn’t notice any issues with the back boxes but i wasnt really looking for any, but if there was any warping or wrinkling it wasnt obvious to me or my friend who is a welder fabricator with 20 years experience (he even commented how much better quality it was compared to the milltek).
So it looks like all of Mick’s ‘quality’ concerns about the JHM exhaust (which he started talking about only AFTER he started promoting the Ben exhaust) were just MORE INTERNET LIES AND DRAMA to hurt JHM.
Mick’s anti-JHM campaign part 4: DEBUNKED.
The one thing Mick always said was that his JHM clutch and flywheel were fantastic. In fact, on several occasions and he stepped into threads where people had clutch trouble to say his was great and that he even loved it. He reiterated this with an email to JHM which read:
“Feeling good about my JHM clutch and flywheel…
I saw a lot of people giving it bad reviews, but I stuck with it. I just checked and I now have 5 track days and 20k miles on it, and its held up perfect. Goes to show I should stop believing all the crap I read and just go by my own personal experiences.”
Then, once he started trying to hate JHM with every breath he took (and once he started plugging ben’s exhaust co and slamming JHM at every turn) his clutch suddenly started having problems. Could be coincidence. Could be karma. Wouldn’t engage properly…wouldn’t go into gear…there’s a rattling sound. In fact, for the past 60 days he has done nothing but bitch online about the JHM clutch, spreading fear and doubt about the part’s reliability on SEVERAL Audi forums, trying to steer business away from JHM as a result of his problems. He contacted JHM and JHM offered to take apart his car, show him what was wrong, and if their part had indeed failed, they would buy him a new clutch of his choice or replace it with another JHM unit. Mick scoffed at this offer, then posted on the forums snidely about how JHM blames ‘installer error’ for most of the clutch failures…well this won’t work with his clutch because ‘JHM installed it themselves’. He then threatened to sue JHM if his clutch failure turned out to be installer error, with the encouragement of several overly zealous, litigious morons on quattroworld
This week, his dealership removed the clutch/flywheel from his car, and found that the bolts weren’t loctited properly on installation. They are supposed to have red loctite applied (flywheel bolts) and Mick’s didn’t. This would certainly be the cause for all of his problems. The clutch was in good shape though. So…now Mick’s next move? Blame JHM who he said installed his clutch, demand JHM pay him $3000 for his trouble or they’d be tied up in the Oregon legal system, and then he started up the motor on his anti-JHM campaign on quattrofail again, now that he was vindicated. He must have been dancing a jig.
OR WAS HE???
JHM themselves posted in Mick’s smear campaign thread today on quattroworld…a very simple, but devistating reply:
‘JH Motorsports Inc DID NOT install customer Mick Flanigan’s clutch/flywheel’
OOPS!
We knew that too didn’t we. The clutch/flywheel was originally installed AGES AGO by Futrell/Futile…in part 2 of Mick’s campaign of crazy. HOW COULD MICK FORGET WHO INSTALLED HIS OWN FUCKING CLUTCH!!!
After backpedalling and hemming and hawing…and after a few quattroworld regulars lambasted Mick for slamming JHM all along, when they didn’t even install the clutch…the inevitable happened. The thread was deleted before anyone else could read what happened.
Well, fortunately I have a screen cap Unfortunately , it’s not an expanded view, but god damn it is funny to watch mick run around in circles in terror when he realises that
a) he has lost his mind and doesn’t even remember who he paid thousands to install his clutch/flywheel
b) he is DEAD FUCKING WRONG again and JHM has got the better of him publicly, yet again
c) he has just proven that the JHM clutch/flywheel is a fantastic part, and that failing to follow the very simple instructions (like adding loctite) can cause these problems that are unjustly directed at JHM.
Must have been a long day for him lol.

Mick’s anti-JHM campaign part 5: DEBUNKED (by his own insanity)
This guy has been losing his mind, and I think this latest episode proves that…and proves that he is so full of venom and anger (for what?) that he is not thinking straight. Not sure we should listen to ANYTHING he says…not that we ever did on this site.
Fortunately a number of members of quattroworld have been seeing the same things about mick and his all kinds of anti-JHM crazy, and are calling him out for it on the regular.
