Guys whats up, i got these codes today, random misfire p0300 and p0301,02,03,04,so it all started about 2,3 days ago i would drive the car fine for about 15/20 min or what ever and then after i turn off the car for about 5/10 minutes or so the car would not want to start again it was a 10/15 sec delay on the start and yea the engine was turning but wouldn’t start, so if i turn off the key and wait few seconds and start again it will start right the way.but today it got very bad, after a little drive i get the missfire and finally i got some codes,i already check spark plugs and coils they seemed fine to me, they were all dry, i had something similar to that happened a while ago and it was a bad 02 sensor, funny thing is cylinder 1,2,3,4 they are all in the same side right?any ideas what it could be? Im trying to drive to JHM this coming Thursday if the car is drivable i dont wanna town it!
Why not ask jhm first?
shot in the dark guess id go with a hpfp.
Sakimano i did asked them! But they not gonna say what they think w/o knowing what really is! I was just trying to see if any body had some similar issues, im going there Thursday anyways , but the way the car was today i think is not safe to drive on the freeway!
Badtoyz the hpfp both are brand new not even 2 months old, i was thinking the same that hofp on the passenger side could have failed, and thats why i got codes only for that side, yea looks like brand new things still can brake, if it is hpfp the good thing is it will be still under warranty:)
Every rs4 misfires to some degree. I had a flashing CEL for misfires the other day and I am stock. The misfires were on cylinders 7 and 8.
Later I logged the car for misfires and had them on 3 completely different cylinders as follows.
And the misfires counted in a 10 minute drive where I went anywhere from town speeds to high speeds
Cyl / Count
1 0
2 0
3 37
4 162
5 0
6 75
7 0
8 0
Hard to track them down. All you can do is address fuel delivery and spark. New plugs and coils if you haven’t done that and they are 30,000+ miles old. Then you need to look at injectors, hpfp, lpfp etc. Pain in the ass tracking them down.
You’ve done most of this yes?
If it’s bank related like that it can be a vac leak. Also if the maf starts messing up that too can cause these kinds of things.
So

so i got these new codes today, and i drove the car for about 20/30 minutes w no problem at all,and also if im driving and the check engine light comes on and i erase while driving the car will run fine till the check engine light came back on again, im starting to think that i got a bad 02 sensor again!
Hmm might be the 02 but the 02s can get a bad reading during misfires if clearing the codes makes the misfire go away that says to me there might be something linked into this
Fixed JHM took care of it, Replaced 02 sensors, only 1 was bad but i replaced both already, when one goes bad the other one is about to!
Any pics of her?
‘Miss’ Fire that is …
Haha…
Glad your sorted Denis, car looks great!
That is a very smart move.
U know i leave about 1hr from JHM , and some times very busy w work and family, the 02 sensor was 135$ a piece, i might had to do a 2nd trip there someday soon to replace the second 02 sensor so i did it already to save me the hassle!
As Justin said smart move. Aside from the logistics of traveling to and from, it’s always good to replace things like O2 sensors in pairs. Glad you have it sorted and back to normal.
Yep ! Now just enjoying the ride:)
