can’t see that at work…a little help?

I looked at the link on my phone but it’s a vid and it won’t play. FBOOK FTL!

I’m guessing it’s a TTS supercharged B7 RS4 vs. some kind of B5? That TTS kit is a small rotrex cfuge, mounted up on top of the engine like the roots kits out there. Someone said the Rotrex units are tiny and you need to spin them all to hell to get them to move air.

Those guys claimed some Ferrari Enzo/Lamborghini Murcielago like 60-130 times, but when someone asked them for the VBOX file to confirm (since the VBOX file can show elevation changes… ), they suddenly became computer illiterate and couldn’t send it. Not sure about this. THey’re also claiming ‘clutch can’t hold the power’ although it seems the result of the video would counter that. They were launching the car at 6000 rpm and complaining the clutch wouldn’t hold. People told them to launch at 3500 rpm then, and they said that wouldn’t work. When assured it would, they said ‘it will slip on the 1-2 shift’.

THey also mentioned a pricetag of around 15,000 pounds sterling for the kit + clutch etc…or about $20,000+. Not holding my breath lol.

just watched. Pretty similar to the vid I posted…but that was a vast ft car with meth.
this is a b5 rs4…any mods?

Cliff notes:
TTS on the RS4 - correct Saki.
B5 - as far as I can tell from scanning the pages - RS6 hybrids, manifolds,IC’s etc. I don’t know all of the specifics yet.

Yes, pretty similar to what you posted which is why I thought it would be a hoot to share another one with similar results.

Way overpriced - just thought the short vid was a good one to share.

Saki, in case you’re wondering, I’m not a member of RS246 - the handle “RS4Paul” is someone else, not me. I use the smae handle on ALL RS4/Audi forums.

RS6 ‘hybrids’ = basically K04
manifolds…not enough info. There are a bunch of header/log manifold options in b5 world. Some suck. Some are good.

That B5 is not making 550 ps however (that’s like 540 horsepower)…because that would be 450 whp. That would make it a mid 11 second B5…and I can guarantee that B7 (which walked it by 6 car lengths…which would mean 9-10 car lengths in the 1/4) is not going to run mid high 10s.

The UK guys love those dynos that ‘calculate’ crank hp by measuring the run-down after calculating Whp. Problem is they usually use 25-30% drivetrain loss, which we all know is BS. The b5 probably makes 390-400 whp (max). The B7 probably makes 430-440 whp.

This is all keyboard racing/guessing though. Again…when they (TTS) were asked for the VBOX file to verify their 60-130 time after they ran Murcielago LP640 level 60-130 times (that’s a 3500 lb car making 640 crank hp remember) they clammed up real quick and suddenly couldn’t work email. “I don’t know how…I barely know how to go online”

Another vid I found promoting the kit.

re: those dyno numbers…remember…these guys (MRC) are the guys who tuned a PES M90 S5…and said it made 550 ps (540 crank hp).

Then it ran 12.59 at Density Altitude -1000. yes, minus 1000. He ran 20 times and never did better. Remember kryptonik and his PES M90 RS4? He ran 12.59 too. He dyno’d 370-380 whp or something (a.k.a. maybe 450-475 crank hp).

So yeah…

LOL that Spinner dude cropped up when I was searching for JHM SS reviews. He has this website in his sig now: http://www.audisuperchargers.co.uk/ (put your computer on mute because the site plays some music that I can’t figure out how to disable). I don’t know if that’s him, but I’m pretty sure that’s his car in the website.

BHP (brake horsepower) or crank HP has always been the HP quote of choice in the UK - I could never work out why they would always say “brake” horsepower on old Top Gear. Then I moved over here and realised that many use WHP. Car manufacturers use BHP for their power ratings so there is some logic to using BHP/CHP for engine mods.

But WHP will also depend on the drivetrain and its losses, which as saki said are not insignificant. Am I right in thinking that going for LW rotors and wheels will not increase my CHP but will increase my WHP?

I’ve often toyed with the idea of going to the local dyno but at $100 for 2/3 runs (where I don’t get to have fun like at the strip) I figured I’d put the money towards the car itself.

lol Spinner is a piece of work. Remember how he used to deny my claims he was compensated by PES to promote their kit? Now he’s the PES distributor for all of the UK. What a joke. The whole UK Audi scene is a bit sketchy. MRC lives and dies by the dyno for their products. By the way it’s their dyno, in their shop lol.

None of them ever seem to go to Santa Pod and doing anything worthwhile (Santa Pod is the one legitimate UK dragstrip). The cars that go run mid to high 12s…and the rest make excuses all day.

Haha that music is so fucking gay. Sounds like HS graduation music. You can disable it by using AdBlock plus or similar and block the animated banner at the top of the page. That’s the source of the music.

SO, that pull of the S4 vs. the RS4 in the OP was on the autobahn. Doug at MRC took the car to the nurburgring. Ran 8:30 seconds which is basically 30 seconds slower than stock (but it’s a busy place so not exactly a good ‘metric’ on performance)

Anyway, I have asked doug at MRC if he will be taking the car to the Santa Pod Raceway, The UK’s only real dragstrip (most of them are temp courses setup on abandoned runways etc…but this is a proper full time dragstrip like we have over here). No answer yet.

It’s a grand total of 40 miles from MRC’s shop…so if they have no excuse. I mean if they can drive to frigging Germany and get a ‘lap time’ to test the car, they sure as hell can drive 40 minutes away.

Have you had dialogue with MRC before?

I knew that link would pull up some old memories ;D

Saki, as soon as I saw the claimed numbers, the folks involved in the discussion, the talk of lap times, dyno vids…I couldn’t help myself. ;D ;D ;D

In addition to instigating a bit, I figured why not share some other parts being sold around the world and what was involved with the kit etc.

lol saki does get around

not really to be honest. I did have a go at Spinner for lying to the forums while he was trying to make money for himself (pimping the M90 kit) and he in turn tried to make it like I was having a go at MRC’s credibllity. What I said back then was that if MRC doesn’t understand that an Eaton M90 is a tiny fucking supercharger that is undersized and under-efficient for a 4.2 V8 that revs to 7000 (or 8000) RPM, despite the fact the blower is INCAPABLE of making 550 hp according to the Eaton compressor maps and the Harrop rep himself, then I guess I question their credentials. They were a PES dealer according to the PES webpage, and were saying how great the kit was because they had a tune for it (ditching the PES tune). I think we all know (here) the truth about the M90…so I guess you know why when someone says it’s great and makes 550hp, you know why I don’t trust them.

I asked a question on MRC’s youtube page and they blocked me from commenting on their videos. Basically the way I see it is if you can’t deal with a punk customer like me out in the open, you have something to hide. Look at my ‘run ins’ with tuning companies…PES, VF, APR chief among them. PES and VF ran away and hid, or tried to get me banned for asking pointed questions about their claims/products. APR on the other hand faced me head on and engaged me in a debate. I respect that. I don’t respect VF and PES. Turns out VF and PES had something to hide…APR didn’t (although they sure were happy count vohn rescued them lol).

If you’re honest and doing the right thing, the name sakimano is not something you need to fear.

Interesting tidbit here - PES is testing the TVS1900 on an S5. This info is not even on their website.

http://www.audisuperchargers.co.uk/news.html

I wonder if this will make it to production…

I saw that. I also saw that VF is going to put an M112 in their kit

A TVS1900 would be awesome but think about this

a) you’d have a PES kit (and we all know what that has meant in the B6/7 S4/RS4 forums)
b) the dimensions would mean a hood redesign, and frankly these companies just can’t afford to make a hood as part of their supercharger kit. The costs are pretty insane. VF abandoned their M112 for this reason.

The S5 might have a different amount of clearance so I am not sure if it would fit in there. It’s a good size for a 4.2 V8. Should be interesting

p.s. there was a mustang GT500 with a TVS2300 on it at the strip last week. EPIC!

p.s.s. that site you linked is Spinner’s site. He’s now the official distributor of PES Supercharger kits for the UK. You know…the guy who claimed he was impartial and honest while posting glowing reviews of the PES M90 kit (that he got for half price on the backs of his buddies who paid full rocket). What a sad state.

In all seriousness, one of the things that made me post this was the fact that MRC felt it was necessary to update the fuel pumps on the RS4 for their kit. Anyone else find that odd? I was under the impression our HPFP’s and injectors were up to the task of any size blower (within reason) we could throw on this car. Maybe not a fully built Stage III - maybe then we would have to look at fueling but Stage I or II? With the blower they are using currently, does it really call for an updated HPFP?

I hear you Saki. The TVS1900 would be interesting, but it is PES. I am thinking vaporware. Me, I will have a JHM kit on few weeks so I am good.

A Mustang with a TVS2300 is a sick vehicle.
