Moving over

At 118,000 miles, my 18 year old has taken over the B6 A4. He’s got no interest in modding it currently (which is good his insurance is already insane), only standard maintenance. So he gets it with the JHM 91 tune, lightweight pulleys and a K&N airfilter. I was just about to do the exhaust when the wife and I decided to move over to…

a C5 A6 S-line. So. I’ll be looking in to that forum as well as the B5 S4/RS4 forum.

Now I start all over again. This forum has been so informative I cannot sufficiently express my gratitude. Thanks, everyone!

2.7T A6? Lots of potential there.

The 4.2 would have been a cool choice. Comes with RS6 widebody.

Fairly limited in choice in the Minneapolis area. I managed to get the lowest mileage S-line in the area that didn’t have an accident on the carfax. It was also the lowest priced, so right now I am pretty happy. He’s definitely more responsive than the tuned A4 and the potential of the 2.7T was a big attraction. Plus the wife demands her cars as Audi (or Mercedes, which I can’t afford right now).

The only drawback is the 5-speed slushbox in the car.

I’d have loved to have the 4.2 again (had a B6 S4 and a Q7 with the 4.2) and the car was great. I had more than a couple kids try to race the S4 and ended up looking at my taillights. It might not have been a real speed demon, but it was definitely no slouch. Sadly, there was only one C5 A6 4.2, a 2000 with close to 200k on it. That’s a little too high for my tastes in a pre-owned vehicle.
