mp3 aux

Hello I have my 2007 s6 and I dont have any aux . I wondering what the best to have one . Thank you all

Are you talking about in your radio unit. Sorry I’m not the stereo guy so if that sounds like a dumb question sorry.

Yes I Will love to use a aux with my phone or bluetooth but I dont if there à way to do it by Just by upgrade the mmi

Do you have the external AV input options when switching between radio and CD?

If you do you can knock up diy Bluetooth streaming with my instructions here http://forum.rs246.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=110852

I dont have any av input

AUX (or aux) is short for 3.5mm Auxiliary. It is the cable type that is used for ALL cell phones, headphones, and computer-related audio devices. You’ve all used it certainly.

I believe the 2007 has the same setup as my car, so in your glove box next to your CD changer there is a funky looking port. You can purchase an adapter to go to 3.5mm Aux from the proprietary (i.e. port made and used only by Audi vehicles of a specific year). I believe MMI adapater is the correct term.

This is what it looks like

They look cheap on ebay but I don’t know anything about any of them so I won’t post any recommendations. I urge you to check reviews and order at your own risk.

This port are not there . I think they start make this port on the 2008

I think the port might have been an option.

The lead above only works when the car has the AMI (Audi music interface) fitted.

Ah dang, I thought it came standard with the S6. I’m not sure what to tell you there, a lot of cars have that issue and there isn’t an easy way to get it, as far as I know.

There are devices such as the XcarLink which I think connects via the multi changer in the glovebox and can come with Bluetooth streaming. I think it shows on the MMI as a seventh cd but I’m not sure.

I think ill Just buy à cd writer lol

Mine is a 2007 as well, and there is defintely no “aux” option in the audio sources menu, just “cd”. Also, no port of any kind near the CD changer. I’d be interested in getting a solution for this as well, but for now I just pay my $14/mo for the Sirius service, it gets me by. Not to thread hijack, but since it’s somewhat related, anyone know why my satellite radio cuts out every single time I go under an overpass or a tree? Every other car with XM I’ve driven hasn’t had any issues with overhead cover besides inside long tunnels. Oddly, it works fine in certain geographic areas (such as the California Bay Area) than in others (such as Sacramento, where I live), so it’s clearly getting better reception as I get closer to the satellite coordinates, which tells me that the antenna just sucks. Any fix for this? The reception always cuts out right as the comedian gets to the punchline on the Rawdog station, hahaha

Does anyone know if the “Aux” option is specific to the European MMI firmware and not the US? Or is the hardware actually different? My mechanic says he can flash the MMI if that gets me an AUX in

I thought you could only code in the external AV inputs but you would also need the TV module for them to work.

Im not sure of that though.

I don’t know the car end of this, but if your guy is telling you that there is a device that he can flash to take analog data from a 3.5mm cable and output it as sound through the speakers in your car, this shouldn’t be a problem. As far as I know, an MP3 is an MP3 and data is data. This should work, unless I’m missing something on the hardware end (or perhaps Europe does have its own audio file type? Don’t think so though)

I’m just looking for an analog AUX-IN without going through the expense of buying an AMI controller. Apparently the euro MMI units are equipped with an active analog AV input and/or the TV module (which I do not have in my US spec car.) Do I have any options?

Assuming you have a multi changer in the glove box I would say this is the simplest solution.

Cool idea, but it says at the bottom that it’s not compatible with Audi MMI systems.

This one says it works with MMI systems, but I haven’t looked into how it works yet:
