My 2004 RS6

Made it to the track finally. Put some lightweight wheels on it from another car I had. Slapped on an MBC, and Kurt tuned the car. This was basically our first properly running file on the car so virtually no timing in it. Not bad for first time out. Broke the USA record for fastest RS6 on the first pass and then bested that by 2mph later on in the night. One guy over in Europe trapped 127 on the bottle (CHEATER!!!) lol. Looking forward to hitting the track again in a few weeks after a retune, and a few other minor mods.

First and last passes were both practically identical. 11.9 @ 120mph

Had one pass that was 12.1 @ 122mph. (In car video included)

Great stuff. This is the beginning of something special. That is one fat ass car going fast! Love the RS6 big bum

Great times, Corbett. Always great to see AR guys posting results. Surprisingly, your 60’ time on the 12.1 run was piss poor - 1.89? So it seems like your launch could use some work, but overall, good stuff = good karma+

Edit: tell Saki to add these times to our database

Higher 60 often equals better MPH.

Corbett those times are solid as a baseline.

1000 feet of da and you’re trapping 120+. On pump. Sweet

I have to admit I totally forgot it was an 01e swap so when you staged and let off the brake I started cursing the screen saying ‘dude… You’re going to roll forward and shallow stage!!!’

Felt like you were shifting early in 1-2-3 and then pushed fourth deep.

Absolutely the launch was bad. I actually am still learning how to launch this thing. My b5s were much easier. Tons of torque in this monster. I tried a 5k slip and dump. Thought I broke an axel for sure but it was ok. Work in progress but the bad 60 fts are a good thing, if I can get them down into the 1.60s ill have a great time. You’ll notice my shifting is damn slow too.

This was on q16. Figured it wouldn’t hurt, though the car isn’t really tuned for it.

Haha about the 01e swap. Yes I was shifting early. All kinds of changes I can make. Top of 4th I have a choice, shift into 5th gear or wind out 4th!

It will help for sure on the new tune. He tends to build in headroom on a pump tune to take advantage. Although this tune was likely give no headroom. The race fuel likely just helped cool things down a little.

Get that launch down man, and definitely keep us updated. I’d say you’re leaving some on the table - would be awesome to see you run in decent conditions with a good launch

Man… 1.7 is no good and bad shifting? I thought you drove well and launched well. Tough crowd here!

For the other 4.2 all motor cars we launch in the 3s. Try it. This car is making at least 280 wtq all motor before boost… And then turbos take it up 200 notches in boost. But that all motor wtq is fine for launching at 3400-3800 rpm’s. Little spin and go. It’s heavy though so may need 3800.

Actually shit… What does it weigh? I seem to recall c5 being WAY lighter than I thought. I want to guess 4250 for your car but I bet it’s barely 4000

Good input. Don’t think I launched lower than 4k. Will try a lot of different stuff next time and review the slips. I think car weighs 4,100 but then factor in the lighter wheels, lighter brakes, lighter battery and manual trans and I’m probably 200lbs lighter than stock? I’m actually going to get it weighed soon too.

Congrats, strong numbers and glad to see this thing being used as it was meant to be!

Try 3200 and if it bogs, move it up to 3400, and so on. If you get to 3800 and are still bogging add some tire pressure.

If you’re at 3200 and spinning, take out some tire pressure.

Good stuff man!

Awesome!!!

I love that car! Great vids!

How is it as a daily driver? I would imagine it’s darn near perfect!

The B5’s can be a pain in the ass around town with anything bigger than K04’s but wonderful on the highway. The 4.2 in the B7 (not sure what the differences are) is great around town but not as potent on the highway. I’ve never driven one but I’ve always thought the 4.2tt was an amazing combo. Great sled man!

X2 thatnks for saving me from writing the same thing…the 4.2 is much better then most know add some boost and it gets great. Take some time get the csr down…your already doing great

Thanks! I’m actually not daly driving it haha. It’s a night/weekend car for me. I put waaaaaay too many miles on my daily to dive the rs6. I don’t wanna rack up the miles on it, especially with it being the only 2004 in the USA.

Thanks! Tell Jay and all the guys I said thanks for their help!
