… I would counter that they should also see that a self-employed professional must be successful to pony up for their EMBA program.

Congrats. Did you have to submit any lifetime achievement awards for them to get things straight, or did they just come to their senses?
I submitted one award I received back in 1999. Didn’t have anything to show for it so I contacted my old company President from the time and asked him to write me an email/reference of the award which I then forwarded off to the admissions people with my added “awards in my industry are extremely rare” blurb.
Might have swung the pendulum. Who knows. They don’t disclose how the acceptance process goes, how many applicants there are, etc.
Probably just some box-checker checking boxes…
Wouldn’t surprise me.
