Didn’t realize there’s only 6 12 second b6/b7’s, so I guess v8s4ryan was the 6th officially as far as the forums go right? Im going to Texas motorplex on May 11th as long as work issues don’t come up, I really feel like I won’t make 12.9, but you never know…
Sucks about the axles btw, you must be really launching it!
I was talking about all motor though, I know some of those are supercharged/nitrous’d. Believe it or not ryans4V8 you are not the only one with Nexens, lol. Prior owner of my car had Nexens on it too, can’t remember which ones they are though. They are ok, but tread is kind of low and I’ll probably go for some hankook v12’s for my next tire.
btw, friend next door got a '12 S4 loaner car while his car was in the shop. We ran about 4 0-100+ runs and I won everytime, even the last time when I had switched ESP on for a little highway high speed stint, and then we stopped at a light and i forgot to turn it off. He blew past past me off the line bc of that but I pretty much instantly ran him down and passed him around 60 and put about 3-4 car lengths up to about 110-120.
His car had the s-tronic no DSG, base model, no sports diff either so not sure how much of a difference those 2 features make on a stock S4. I couldn’t believe they had a S4 for loaner, but it was a base model with only Nav, carbon fiber inlays and 19" peelers. Still had a sticker of 53k, lol.
the s-tronic cars are slower than the manual cars. In cool temps, my old S4 (jhm tune, full exhaust) could handle the DSG cars (1-2 car lengths) but the manual stock B8 S4s were pretty much dead even.
Here’s what happens when a 12.9 second B7 S4 races a B8 S4 with DSG, tune, pulley, high flow cats, catback and LW wheels…on a hot summer night
not heavily modded, just piggies, FI 2.5 catback and JHM 93 tune. I pulled on him everytime even when he took off ahead of me with my esp on the last run. He was in sport mode hammering it everytime, my car is 6mt. From 0-50/60 it would be pretty even depending on my launch, but he could never keep close after that.
^^^not so true dude…and you can’t suck at driving a DSG.
Check my post above…I’ve done all the pulls you could want to do with B8 S4s while I owned a nicely modified (certainly far from ‘heavily’…I spent $3000) B7 S4 and as I said could beat a stock DSG and was even with a well driven stock manual.
Yeah, I didn’t understand they are all DSG’s, I thought that meant something special because on the B8 forums everybody puts DSG in their sig along with features such as ADS or sport differential so I assumed it was an updgraded trans.
Anyway, you really need the catback, piggies, and tune, but that will beat a completely stock B8 as i can attest. I actually thought I would lose bc I rode in it first and it was fast as hell. All the B8 requires is a little tune and it would probably dominate me though.
I was more or less stating that running a B8 down and putting 3-4 lengths on them to 110-120 sounds like an exaggeration, and I was curious about the mods of nicotino15. As a B7 guy, we all deep down inside hate that they got a supercharger, and can be made very fast, very quick.
probably exaggerated a little bit, on the last run I did put at least 2-4 car lengths on him up top (not sure if/when he let off once we were over 100, but he wasn’t really falling back super fast, and he told me he just couldn’t keep up when we got home), but I said that because off the line I bogged since I had just turned traction control back on, tried to use LA, and the ESP did not like it at all.
So when I say he took off, he did, but it was only a split second before my car recovered and he was maybe a car length ahead of me off the line. So not really a hunted him down from way behind and surpassed him by 4 car lengths, but it was quite obvious my car was quicker to my surprise. Seems like Audi underrates those cars at only 335 hp. I’m guessing with the tune and exhaust I have to be at 360-370 crank hp, at least I hope.
