It all started on one spring day in 2010 when i picked up my 07 Misano red RS4. It was bone stock. I brought it home and did some maintenance to it (plugs, air filter, fuel filter carbon clean, oil change). The carbon was the worst i had seen in any other Fsi engine. Regrettably i took no pictures. I ran the car like that for a few months but then the mod bug hit me. I love modifying my cars. I called Dan at JHM and asked if they had a tune for the rs4. He told me they didn't have anything at this time. I then found a milltek catback that i installed and also did piggies. I know i wasted my money but at that time there was no JHM stuff for the RS4. I drve the car like that for the rest of the summer and fall and then parked it.
During the winter i was hearing more and more about the jhm parts coming along. i called them up and started collecting them in my closet. I bought the stage 4 clutch and lightweight flywheel, stern motor mounts, Apikol diff mount, 034 tranny mount, and the tune. I started installing everything in march of this year. I also installed a set of kw v3 coil overs, did another carbon clean and installed the JHM intake spacers. I brought the car out of storage in early April. The car was a totally different car to drive. It revved up quicker thru the rev range and just made a ton more power. The tune really transforms this car and with the light weight flywheel and stiffer mounts all round
its a beast. Those of you with the tune know what i mean. It is really smooth and silky but just unleashes the cars potential. After driving it for a few months i got the itch for more power. After reading all the exhaust threads and
how small the milltek was i Decided to take the purge and order the full jhm 2.75 exhaust. It was a few weeks
before i got it and after installing it i was amazed at what a proper exhaust system does to a car. just installing the
exhaust changed the car again. I then called up Dan and got an updated tune for the exhaust. I also ordered the
light weight crank pulley and a set of hotchkis sway bars and got them installed. I have almost everything jhm
offers for the rs4. I love the car and how it feels. Those of you have driven or had a ride in a jhm rs4 know what i
mean.
Coming close to the end of the summer i am almost done with car. I bought a set of forgestar f14 wheels in gunmetal finish 19x10 et 30 wrapped in 275 30 19 hankook vents tires.
After speaking with Dan at jhm and his success with removing the aux rad and secondary air injection i decided that was my next mod. I remove those and made myself a fresh ir vent to the 3rd port in the air box. Jhm hooked
me up with a file to get rid of my cel for the sai. I cant say enough abut the guys at jhm. They are a great help
and a great asset to any platform they make parts for. My rs4 is totally transformed. The car just wants to get up and go. It doesn’t matter if its 30 deg or 90 deg.
I will be going to the track in the next few weeks and will update this thread. Pics and vids will follow when i get some.
