My Turd Nugget Won't Start

Bought this guy off of Copart. Inserting the key in the ignition won’t wake the car up at all. E-brake won’t disengage so I can’t even move the dang thing in my driveway :joy::joy:

Flood car in 2015, car is exceptionally clean, but as I’ve found so far, ignition switch module, immobilizer start module, and the module underneath the driverside dash relays is was laced with salt. Cleaned them all up as well as replaced the 3 switches and relay in the J518 and still nada.

Engines got oil and coolant, bypassed the starter relay and it’s got plenty of juice and sounds healthy.

Was hoping to keep this thing as it’s exceptionally clean, but it looks like it might be getting parted while the engine lives its life in the back of an old green s6 avant with a Porsche Boxster Transmission

You checked the fuses and relays in the engine bay?

Was the car in salt water?

I’ve checked every fuse I can think of. Engine compartment, both sides of the dash, trunk area… whatever was bad I replaced, which wasn’t much.

Still no power to anything in the car like a J518 would suggest…

I don’t believe there was salt water intrusion from how clean everything is, but who knows at this point.

So, I’ve decided I’m going to part it out. I was able to use my Immobilizer off ECU’s and chassis loom that I use for my V10 powered C4 Avant + a little starting fluid to fire it right up!

And that’s without any power to the Immobilizer, key, tramsmission…basically everything! Pretty cool and it was the first start in presumably 8 years.

So with that being said, everything will be for sale. Seats are damn near perfect as well as all interior and exterior bits. Brakes are almost brand new as well. I will be tearing the 70,000 mile motor out and selling it as a turn key swap for an older chassis. $6500 and you can drop it in pretty much any older chassis with an 01e/01a bolt pattern, same setup as mine!
