Need help with RNS-E code

Hello,

I just sold the RNS-E that was in my car. I haven’t shipped it out yet.

I sold it on the premise that I had the code for it. I just googled how to retrieve the code and couldn’t find anything within the last few years that was relevant.

Being that the RNS-E didn’t come in my car from the factory I know that it was installed afterwards. Will the new owner still need a code? And if so, how do I go about getting the code for the new owner prior to shipping it out to him?

I have a VAG-Com, can I get it from there?

Does the fact that it’s already been retrofitted mean that it won’t need a code?

I reached out to see if the original owner still has the code written down somewhere.

The only other way I know of to retrieve an RNS-E code is an unlock disc, but the last time I did that for someone was 6 years ago, so I don’t recall the specifics. You definitely need the code though. Retro-fit or not.

You could retrieve a code using AUX… number. Call AoA or use one of those eBay services and they’ll retrieve it for you if you provide AUX… number.

Plug into VCDS, get serial number and auz number. Call AoA they will give you the pin code with that info and the VIN. I did it when I sold mine a while back. Super easy
