So I picked up some new wheels for the summer. Forgestar CF05 18x9 ET 42, I like them but not sure if I like the black finish. Thinking of silver or titanium grey instead, basically I don’t want to mount up tires and not really like the black finish.

Gunmetal looks mean and tough, but you can also see the wheels and their design perfectly.

Yup I did but these from him, I do like the oem titanium finish as well. These being only 5 spokes I’m wondering how lost the design will really get as compared to a multi spoke wheel

I would be inclined to try them black… And if you hate it make a change at that point. Might be easier to buy a set that are gunmetal and sell these at that point.
What do they weigh?
Should only be about 60-75 a wheel. But I will probably give them a try in black first. A tad over 22 lbs, not extremely light but decent for a spun forged wheel and 18x9. My bbs were 21.5 in a 18x8.5.

Cool, yea he was easy to work with, wheels are in pretty good shape just need the correct hub rings and I should be set.

How cheap you can get the wheels powder coated. Sounds like a good deal.
Weight is fine for good looking wide wheels. Tdr are ugly as sin and they weigh the same.
I think the black will look sharp, is that a DTM you have there?

Avus was only available on 2006 25 quattro, not on the 07-08 dtm/exterior sport package
I know. I’m disappointed in myself. Is the front bumper the same on the 25 Quattro’s and the 07/8 dtm’s? Still learning I guess…
Yep is a 25th, same front bumper as other dtm’s just a different rear bumper. Ill give the black a try for now. It could look pretty good

photos don’t do black wheels justice because your camera will want to ‘properly’ expose the image, especially for a silver car in a light background.
You can use exposure compensation for the image to be 1 or 2 stops overexposed if you want the wheels to come out better. Most cameras have it. Hell my Samsung Note has it lol.
Or you can do an exposure adjustment brush on the wheels themselves.
p.s. car looks great. How much lower is that than stock?
